I suspect we are going to transition from a 'beautiful game' with an bias toward offense to an older style pound it into the paint with LMA and Kwahi with a bias toward defense. Pop will coach the personnel he has with the skills they have. It will be efficient, but lack the elegance of 2013/2014 and not as much 3 pt shooting as 2 pt. shooting.

We will win, but sometimes like Saturday against the Grizzleys, we will win ugly (for some fans) at a slower paced game.

I learned a long time ago that trying to predict what Pop is going to do is dicey, at best. But it's a reasonable theory.

Actually, I hope you're right about winning ugly. I remember watching a game in the first or second year Bowen was here. The Spurs played just about as ty as you could imagine on the offensive end. But because their defense was so smothering, they were only down by a few points near the end. They came up with a couple of big shots, and a couple of stops, and won a game that they had no business even being in. That's when Pop's evil genius really hit me. As long as they could "ugly up" a game, they would NEVER be out of it. And that's how they won a LOT of games in those championship years.

The beautiful game is fun to watch, no doubt about it. But grinding down opponents in the paint, and with defense has been a better recipe for a championship over the years.

BTW - Kawhi is a career .374 from the 3P line, which is more than respectable. But he's a career .417 from the 3P line IN THE PLAYOFFS. And in the playoffs he's taken 4.9 3PA/100 Possessions, compared to 4.7 during his regular seasons. He shoots the 3 just as much in the playoffs, but he makes more of them. You know... when they need them.

The Porker offense is a guaranteed failure.

    - Choked to the Mavs in the second round
    - (Two-year gap of Duncan taking back control of the team)
    - Crushed by the Mavs in the first round
    - Swept by the Suns in the second round
    - 8
    - Reverse swept by OKC
    - 6
    - (Kawhi and Duncan restore order for a year)
    - Lost to the Clippers in the first round

It's a fact - when Porker tries to be a hero, the Spurs collapse in legendary fashion.

Barnes checked this per par. We must stay away from Memphis at all costs, Kiwi will build Trump's wall with bricks himself

Spurs offensive rating continues to fall with Kiwi heavy offense... 105.9 now and falling. Worst since 2004

2004? We had to hold opponents to low 80's in order to win games

Spurs used to eat ISO teams for breakfast. Now, they've become one. SMDH!

Short bus is okay with their role play stopping the beautiful game, but not LMAlpha and MVParker (who's shooting 53% and is the second most efficient PG in history behind Nash)

Sadly that's a commodity the short bus krew is sorely lacking of, as Parker finished top 6 twice in MVP votes. But of course that's quantifiable and I know you hate that.

    Beat me to it.

Please, someone tell me again how wildly inefficient Kawhi's offense is so we can go ahead and put the dunce cap on you for good.
