Below Harden's that's for sure
Please, lets keep this objective. Not all of Kobes free throws have been food stamps.
No trolls.
And do you think he has surpassed Magic, other for all time bogus freebies?
Rank the Kobster.
20%. Just a guess. Maybe 25%. Post Shaq, maybe higher, but earlier in his career, not as high so it probably leveled out to around 20-25%.
No surprise there though. Since Jordan, the NBA evolved into a star player's league. The vast majority of anointed stars get a very favorable and biased whistle. Not all stars, but most of them. You can ask the same of stars like Dwyane Wade and LeBron James and Kevin Durant throughout their respective careers. Whether you agree or not that a player is as good as he's viewed and considered by the NBA marketing machine, once they get golden boy status, they will get their share of bogus calls.
And yet no teams golden boi got and gets more preference then Kobme.
Example. 2000 Finals.
Al Iverson. Certainly a huge marketable player. I think at that time he lead in jersey sales.
Yet we had to gag as we watched Derek Swisher put his hand on Iversons forehead as they both stood out by the arc, Iverson with the ball. Then, Swisher farking leaves his hand there! For like 3-4 seconds. Right in front of the ref! With no call.
I'm sorry but no team approaches the rigged level of the Lakers.
Kirby in 2000 - 2002 is a lowlight reel for phantom calls.
Durant, granted got pretty close in 2012 and i suppose continuing.
I think that is an accurate guestimate.
Of course we do not have a metric that measures how many subsequent shots said Golden Bois like Kobe, Durant, etc get to take with soft withheld defense because the defender knows he will get rung up for breathing on said Goldie......
Top 10 GOAT here.
Har'en is not GOAT level player.
Kome has had 19 years to amass top GOAT bogus free throw shooter status.
Harden has only been in the NBA for about 5 years.
Give him some time.
Harden's first six years do look better than Kobe's, actually. Not saying he'll end up as the better player though
Nobody will ever top Harden.
Jordan comes in a close second.
