Oh and also, the guy that's done it before....he's also the one that has been one and done in the playoffs about thirty times.
True, it's speculative. However, look at who you're talking about as the other guy....dude just out up the worst football game by a quarterback EVER. And the most shocking part about it was that it wasn't shocking even a little. Ask any Broncos fan that has watched every game Manning has played wearing orange and blue. His skill level has depleted to the point that it makes Ryan Leaf look good in comparison.
His accuracy is garbage, his mobility is beyond garbage, his velocity is shot, his decision making is terrible, he can't run the offense they have out in place for him (coaches fault, not his)....he has no upside at all. Experience means nothing if you can throw the ball more than 75 FEET downfield. I know you want to be right here, but speculative or not, Brock brings so much more to the table than does Manning at this point of his career. The dude is done.
And that's all without even mentioning the weather!
Oh and also, the guy that's done it before....he's also the one that has been one and done in the playoffs about thirty times.
Yes.
Panthers, Cardinals, Greengay, Elis, APs, and the Falcons are all better.
Manning isn't a model of postseason excellence (and I've been on record saying I don't think Denver will do much in the playoffs this year due to their offense) but there's a pretty solid chance that brock won't just be bad but for right dysfunctional. He doesn't have practice reps or rapport with any of the starters. Too much of a wildcard to throw him in. Maybe he'll impress during the off-season and camp, but he wasn't really a stellar prospect coming out.
Except that he's gotten a vast majority of the reps in practices this season because of mandatory rest put in place by Kubiak. , I think Manning has only been practicing one day of the week every week and the rest is "mental reps" while Brock takes the actual snaps.
You're right though, it's speculative up until this weekend. I think I'm right though but we shall see.
It's speculation because we have not seen it, but statistically Manning has been a bottom 5 QB. So in order for Brock to be more detrimental, he'd have to be worse than that which seems pretty unlikely.
you'd rather have a QB having a historically bad season and barely able to throw a football, because he's done it before? I hope you're being sarcastic, tbh..
All Osweiler has to do is not be the 32nd worst starting QB in the NFL, and he'll be an upgrade over this version of Manning..if he can't do that, then he should quit the NFL.
Not every qb in the NFL is fit to be a starter. I'd rather have a guy who is 1 year removed from being a good qb than some guy we've never seen because "he might be better."
Manning has had 17 consecutive games of mediocre to horrible performances..he's been finished for a long time, unfortunately..
We've been giving him the benefit of the doubt because he's Manning, but it's evident that he's beyond finished..
If Osweiler can be a below average QB, which is a very realistic expectation, he'll be a huge upgrade..he's also in a pretty good situation, considering he has WRs that consistently create separation and make plays on the ball(bailed Manning out a ton, the past 2 seasons)..
There's literally no upside in keeping Manning at QB..if Osweiler is the worst starting QB in the NFL, then all the Broncos did was go from the worst starting QB in the NFL to the worst starting QB in the NFL..
Updated...
-goddamn KC has an easy schedule--probably be the Vegas favorites in all 6 remaining games. Take away their inexplicably stupid losses to Denver and Chicago and they are looking at a possible 13-3 season. That offense is still atrocious to watch though, and Alex Smith is one of the only QB's I know who actively seeks out field goals. Would like to see Buffalo in there instead, not only for personal reasons...KC is just boring as to watch and they are a slam-dunk to lose in the WC round.
-The Bengals absolutely need to hold onto the 2nd seed, if not they will get Pittsburgh in the first round and we all know how that will end.
-The Lions look like they could possibly finish 8-8 after a 1-7 start (much to the dismay of Lions fans)
-Would like to see TB make it over ATL. Winston is playing well and getting on the same page with his slew of weapons. Hopefully ASJ can comeback and be an additional weapon. Exciting young team.
-Dallas is currently ranked dead-last in the NFC--with only 6 games left. How crazy would it be if they made the playoffs? It'll have to be via the NFC East crown however b/c all the teams in the WC ahead of them have beatem them H2H (ATL, TB, SEA, NO).
If the cowboys win Thursday watch out nfl. This team could get hot quick and win out.
The Giants look like they are good for at least two losses. Dallas absolutely needs to win out.
If they manage to pull it off this Thanksgiving I think their confidence will shoot through the roof, priming them for a December run.
only Cowboys fans could win one game and then assume the rest are all in the bag.
As of now, teams that are still relevant in the discussion:
4 GAMES REMAINING
NFC:
Carolina 12-0
Arizona 10-2
Minnesota 8-4
Washington 5-7
Green Bay 8-4
Seattle 7-5
_______________
Tampa Bay 6-6
Atlanta 6-6
Chicago 5-7
Philadelphia 5-7
New York Giants 5-7
Dallas 4-8
AFC:
Cincinnati 10-2
Denver 10-2
New England 10-2
Indianapolis 6-6
Kansas City 7-5
New York Jets 7-5
__________________________
Pittsburgh 7-5
Buffalo 6-6
Houston 6-6
Oakland 5-7
Miami 5-7
Every other team is virtually eliminated.
First round matches if ended today:
Kansas City @ New England
New York Jets @ Indy Colts
Seattle @ Minnesota
Green Bay @ Washington
Wouldn't Green Bay be the 3rd seed since they've beaten the MinnesotaVikings? They would then be the 5th seed and get to face the NFC EAST winner (as of now). They play the Cards and Packers still, so they might not make the playoffs all together.
There are only six teams in the real mix, lo and beyond three in each conference.
Carolina, Arizona, Seattle
NE, Cincy, Denver
If any team can mess that up....Pittsburgh
Obviously the most playoff experienced there...NE & Seattle.
Updated. Bengals desperately need to win next week or they'll get Pittsburgh in the first round and we all know how that will end. Marvin will keep his job, regardless
2 years without playoffs. Sad times. To pile on the anguish, I lost my fantasy semi-finals match, which cost me at least $450. Oh well, time to get drunk at MNF tonight.
I'm in the finals despite having to auto draft my team (besides my keeper, Megatron). Cam, Olsen, and Sanders were huge for me
Just realized the Chiefs could possibly win the AFC West...lol
The Bills are beating NYJ next week. Pittsburgh gets in.
sburgh and Rapelisburger. J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS JETS!
Updated...good to see they've flexed all playoff races to the same time slot![]()
I want the Jets to crush Buffalo...gives us a better draft position, and I'd love to see Fitzmagic in the playoffs
