unbelievable. glad the cop getting what he deserves.

at the same time, people need to be smarter... not doing yourself any favors acting that way. didn't deserve it in the least, but it's something a sane person wouldn't do

On the heels of dashcam footage of the Laquan McDonald shooting released today, other news is coming out about how Chicago police worked to suppress video proving he was shot without justification.

According to NBC News Chicago, 86 minutes of security video was missing after the shooting, after police ran through and reviewed it but before any official investigation had been opened, and Burger King has confirmed that it was deleted by police reviewing the video.

After the shooting, according to Jay Darshane, the District Manager for Burger King, four to five police officers wearing blue and white shirts entered the restaurant and asked to view the video and were given the password to the equipment. Three hours later they left, he said.

The next day, when an investigator from the Independent Police Review Authority asked to view the security footage, it was discovered that the 86 minutes of video was missing.
In a statement, a spokesman for the IPRA said: "We have no credible evidence at this time that would cause us to believe CPD purged or erased any surveillance video."

But according to Darshane, both the cameras and video recorder were all on and working properly the night of the shooting.

Jesus christ, that's unreal. Where the do you get off shooting a mother er's dead body from? Did mommy and daddy not give you enough attention when you were a baby? Dig a brotha steal your chick? What the is wrong with you?

It matters that you did this. It will have repercussions. But none will matter to you when you're burning in .

The cop is being charged with first degree murder.

But it took a year for them to do it!

Tells you all you need to know about the police.

cop cams are useless if it you have to go to court to see them.

Cops deleting McDonald's vids is obviously evidence destruction, now that the pig is charged with murder.

The shooting is not the problem tbh. The organized destruction and concealment of evidence by the entire PD is way more disturbing and scary IMO.

Hopefully they don't make the shooter the only escapegoat and start rolling heads from the bottom all the way to the top. Disgusting Chicago Terrorist Department

In the Tribune's analysis, 11 officers racked up a combined 253 complaints that resulted in a single five-day suspension. Come on. What does it take to flag a problem cop?

The system should have identified Van as a ticking time bomb. IPRA records show he was named in 17 citizen complaints — including three alleging excessive force — since 2006. All but two of them have been resolved, and none resulted in discipline.
    Now, he's facing a first-degree murder charge.

According to a 2014 study by the city’s Better Government Association, the government has spent more than $500 million on claims related to police misconduct in the last decade alone.

And they do this everywhere. Recently a colleague of mine who I used to work with recently got in a fist fight with a young off-duty police officer at a San Antonio bar after closing. When you read the paper, it says nobody knows who shot my friend in the arm( city gov trying to cover for one of theirs?). The real story is that my friend is/was dating the cops ex and the cop was just trying to get her back. Words were shouted inside the bar, they took it outside, got in a fist fight. My friend started ing the cop up with some chingasos. The cop shot my friend in the arm cause he was loosing, and then they both split the scene. Aren't cops suppose to protect and serve; even while off duty? I think the problem is that they hire some stupid people of questionable character. They hire a lot of times jock/thug like dudes who used to play foosball, are into roids, tats, used to smoke bud and party(hypocrites and a lot of them still dabble in illegal ) throughout highschool. The nerdy, good, moral cops who apply usually quit after a few months. They need to screen better for candidates and up the educational levels to at least, at worse, an AS in criminal justice, then 18 months in the academy.

Did they think the kid was wearing explosives?

They had no desire to control the situation, none.
It's like it's easier to kill him and be done with it, sweep it under the rug.

They won't be hiring new cops. The cops Union screwed that up royally. The city manager says SA can't afford it.

As for your friend... Did you tell him he is stupid? This lady he is with wants him dead by her ex? Your friend has hormone problems as well. The SA cops on the whole are not near as bad as other large cities IMO. But a cop with a grudge is a ver dangerous beast. They think they can get away with stuff and are therefore more likely to act. Your friend should know this.
