I already gave my thoughts on what I think Kobe is plotting. He's image is down the drain somewhat and people are turning on him (rightfully so). There's only one thing left that he hasn't done that people greater than him have - "leave money on the table".

He's not worth a damn nickel on the court, but he will come back for 1-2 more years at a "discount" contract so that he can always point to that and say "see, I'm not selfish, I left money on the table for my team too. I bleed LAL blah blah". Even though he's not worth the league minimum at this point, he'll say a 10M contract is a huge discount.

    That's my prediction.
If the Lakers are stupid enough to sign him to a 10 million dollar contract that would be amazing.
I think as someone else suggested he should just go play in Italy after this season. Would be a perfect scenario for him.

Very true. With a terrible coach (could change), an inept ownership group that is so far out of touch (won't change) and no more money than anyone else? Not to mention their young players don't look that promising at all. Even if Kobe goes, you still have the same joke of an ownership that has very publicly been humiliated.

Couple that with nothing immediate looking good talent wise? Yeah, I fully think this stink can linger for years beyond Kobe. You think that Durant looks at this roster minus Kobe and thinks "oh ya, this plus me is a contender in the West"? If so, you are freaking nuts.

How so? Kobe himself has mentioned a "wait and see" approach. It's not like I'm pulling this out of thin air. Lakers management has also said they are willing to bring Kobe back. I highly doubt (maybe I'm wrong here) that Kobe takes a max deal (even though they would probably pay it) - so don't see how this prediction does not have some validity.

Well, he did say, "This could be it" a couple of days ago.

It's just sad that you can't even think about paying him a couple mil to sit around and be a player coach. Would probably be worth it for the experience he has, but that would be suicide with any young players.

"Ok, dribble into the corner and make sure that you pull at least three defenders with you!"

"To make the pass around the arc easier, Coachbe?"

" no! So when you shoot the fadeaway 3 with 11 on the shot clock you'll feel that much cooler."

Sure, but he's flipped flopped back and forth so many times. My angle was based on that, plus the fact he's so greedy and a master manipulator. I can fully see him thinking in terms as I described. Doing something one time (when it's meaningless and still more than he deserves) so that he can point back and refute any criticism and say "look, look, what do you mean I never left money on the table to win".

I not only think he plans out his image to that degree, but I think he will try to force the issue if he can.

Fine with me ... I always fight through bull . 20% shooting have at it. $24 ,million those are facts and they have ed us. The extra ? I wont buy in to it and it wont work ...you will just get circle jerks from Cry, Havoc etc.

I do blame him and Byron for our offense and our defense this year

Oh wait I see the light ... It's ALL kobe's fault, the coaching hires, draft picks FA signing it's all on Kobe!!!!

It's not all on Kobe, just mostly. He's the one holding the gun and calling the shots. Your inept ownership enabled him.

Kobe should seriously considering repaying most or all of the 50 mil.. This is really ed up.

He's averaged about 20 games per season the last two years, so assuming he's done within the next 6 games that would mean he got payed roughly 2.4 million per game over the last two years

Man. I did not realize Byron would be this bad. I take back everything I said about this team. Sure, the talent is not very good, but jeez not only does he allow Kobe to hi-jack the offense but he comes out publicly supporting this abortion. Nor is he playing the young kids enough. So he shows and tells it's Ok for Kobe to do whatever the he wants but Russ and Nance Jr are on short leashes ...makes no sense.

I have to say it's hard for me to like any of these former Lakers from showtime right now. Worthy and Magic are defending Byron's stubborn ways but yet they MURDERED D'antoni. Hypocrites!!! KAreem of all people is the only key figure from those teams who has a clue, lately.

Well I am on full tank duty now ...
So please dont fire Byron, we want Simmons!!!!
    I'm withcha Killa:

    He's the perfect tank commander!

i'm not sure what's killa even fighting about... except giving the rookies a free pass for all the terrible games they have played, of course.
