I was surprised to see that Parker actually has a higher WS/48 than Manu right now. Usually the dynamic between them is that Manu is more efficient but Parker can handle more minutes (and at least currently plays a position that has less depth).

But Parker currently has a WS/48 of 0.205 in 476 total minutes and Manu is 0.178 in 274 minutes. I know: "eye test" blah blah blah. But I think Parker is outperforming Manu right now.

After Kawhi it's hard to rank the next three Spurs (Aldridge, Duncan, Parker). I'd put them in that order because the bigs are more important to the defense, but Parker has been playing well and deserves some credit.

Parker playing SMART bb lately. Where he ranks, I don't care.

Parker looks the same as he did last year, if we're keeping it realistic..a lot of over-analyzing and people pretending to see things like "adjustments" in his game, etc..

please, I was the first non-hater that pointed out the early signs, last year, while all you morons cried and said he would turn it around, tbh..

He was even better last November vs. much better compe ion than the Spurs have faced, so far(2nd easiest schedule in the NBA)..Ginobili was playing like a star last December, and then fell off, as well..at least wait until January to see if it holds up..

I hope he can play like this, all year, but you guys need to lower your expectations and stop trying to play "I told you so", because the posters on the other side are going to come back 10x harder if we're watching the same movie as 2014-15(and then everybody will revert to complaining about the forum dying, trolling, etc)

Parker has been far better than Aldridge, though, that's not even really disputable, tbh..

I agree that if Parker gets injured this year he wont be playing elite level basketball any more... but then again that goes for all players. Quality take.

All players play through those types of injuries later in the year, tbh, especially older players..it's not exclusive to Tony, should never be used as an excuse for poor play..

If OPs avatar says anything it's that he's a big fan of overpriced and mediocre role players.

Crazy to ask this with the addition of LMAlpha but his consistency and effeciency have been a thing of beauty.i think he has put to rest that his down year last year was a result of anything more than being injured.

physically, parker isn't much better than last year imo. he's just much smarter than he was last year. he has accepted a smaller role, tries to do less, and has been less liberal with his shot selection.

It's no coincidence that the Spurs second best record in NBA coincides with the resurgence of Parker this year. At this pace the Spurs are on track to win 62-63 games. And a far better playoff seeding than last year. As Parker goes so do the Spurs.
Not true, you remove any of the big 3 and you´ll see how ty the spurs are even with Kawhi and LMA playing great.

The thing with Parker is that he has been the most inconsistent of the big 3 in terms of Age/Expectations, he has given us two very average to bad year at an age where he should have been near his prime. Remember how Manu and Tim where playing at 32 and 33 years old. They where near their prime by the numbers.

So the Spurs go as Far as Parker goes, because he is the weakest link on the chain so far.

I am happy that it´s looking that this year he took things seriouslly and its starting to pay off for the team, but considering the big contract the Spurs gave him i wouldnt expect nothing else.

He took two off years apparently, hope he takes a page out of Manu´s book and starts playing all out on consistent basis. Specially on defense.

Parker looks as expected. People thinking that he would drop off that much in one year were crazy.

    Timmy looks like Timmy.

    Kawhi is a beast.

    Manu looks reenergized.

LA is going to get better and better.

Danny is starting to get a rhythm.

    Patty is bringing the thunder.

Butler is great, and the best is yet to come.

    SloMo proving the doubters wrong.

It is just a matter is sustaining.
