The point being? Lakers will still be trash. Let him enjoy chucking up bricks while he's still getting paid. I would cut his minutes way down just to give the young dudes a chance to develop. Maybe he has one last vintage game.

Duncan will retire hoisting a trophy.. Kirbs writes a gay ass poem..
You worshipped a sidekick,,,,it shouldn't be hard to get over,,,
Kobe: "Team irrelevant.. check. Got my FGA.. check. Gonna get all the media attention this season regardless... check."
As I said:
1) Kobe wasnt going to just decide to retire at the end of the year. He HAS to be the center of attention at all times. If hes retiring, he wants to make sure everyone knows it so he can talk about his career as much as possible. My guess is this wasnt the plan. He planned on playing one more year. Unfortunately the only thing the press wants to talk to him about is how awful he's shooting so he decided it was now or never.
2) Did you read his "poem"? Kobe is easily the douchiest person on the planet. Could you POSSIBLY be more self important? Good riddance, jackass.
This.
Being sent to your watery grave Damian ing Lillard.
Got my check...check
You guys still need to amass some young talent, no one wants to be LeBron in his first Cleveland stint with nothing but dog around him.
Actually everyone wants that. It shines a brighter light on the talent of Lebron. No mid level guy though wants to be relied on to be the sacrificial anode to Kobe's corrosive aura.

CA 21 minutes agoPut it on the front page when Tim Duncan announces his retirement, as he's the an hesis of Kobe - selfless versus selfish, compe ive without being arrogant, and willing to sacrifice statistics and salary for the sake of the team. I'd imagine Kobe has his good qualities as a person, like most of us, but as a basketball player it was all about himself.

Anyhow why announce that in November? Just ing quit already, you prima donna got.
