at 10-5, they do look like the second best team in the East, tbh (second point differential + 4th hardest schedule in the NBA)..
Frank Vogel reorientation from big plodding team to small-ballish one has been a success..they are the second best 3 point shooting team in the league behind the Warriors..PG, against all odds, has comeback with a vengeance and is having a career year after that awfully bad leg injury..All that with Monta Ellis still not yet fully integrated in the team offense..
Can they really keep it up?

just asking the Q, tbh..not making any statement![]()
Well find out a couple months from now. But its hard to trust a team with Ellis and Mahinmi getting major minutes...they have a nice.rookie though.
I'm also expecting PG to regress to the mean a bit..he has always been an inefficient shooter.
They're better than I thought mainly due to PG playing much better than I ever expected...but their ceiling is the 2nd round of the playoffs. Not sure if I'd consider that "legit" or not.
That's what happens when you ship cancers to LA
yeah, they were about to choke the Lakers ..Could be Raptors 2.0![]()
They are the same as any non-Lebron led East team. They can either not make the playoffs or get to the ECF depending on how hot they get at the right time.
5th seed, 1st rd exit. good to see PG13 back in AS form tho
Depends on if PG can maintain his level of play. Didn't he have a hot start a couple years back only to fade. If he maintains it PG is a serious MVP candidate and the Packers are a top 3 seed, if he doesn't they'll still likely make the playoffs but more of a 6-8 seed.
PG is better than anyone that's ever played for the Raptors.
This isnt about PG though, its about a team.
Harden is a legit top 10 player in the league and they are ty and collapsing.
We should be able to tell come feb how good the pacers are...in truth though i can tell you now they would be a mediocre 48-51 win team by season end.
They're obviously not contenders for the le, but I'm just pointing out that they could certainly have more success than the Raps based on PG alone.
They axed their career playoff choker... David West.
The raps won 49 games. They didnt lose 4 straight in the playoffs because of lack of talent. Lowry is an amazing player. They just didnt have a composed team.
Theyre playing a gimmicky offense right now, those always fails in the playoffs.
Running offense thru Lebron every time is pretty gimmicky too... but it works, only because Lebron is Lebron.
The Rockets were in the WCF last season, so I don't see why PG couldn't carry the Pacers that far (ECF). Probably a bit too optimistic but you never know in the East.
And imo Harden is a borderline top 10 player who for the most part had a great year last season.
George will get spanked by LeBron in the playoffs again.
Lakers took their dump. PG came back. Their lost West, but added Ellis, started playing faster. Their still lack couple pieces, but are on the right path
Do you understand what gimmicky means in basketball? Running the offense through a superstar is the norm
We need a starting calibre power forward to contend. David west did us a HUGE favour by leaving by freeing up much needed capspace. We are hoping Bird can make an offer to Al Horford or some other decent big during free agency to help put this team back into contention.
This what I was about to say. I thought posted it earlier in this thread the day it was made. They have all the offense..but do they have the grit?
Paul Geroge has cooled off the past 5 games efficiency-wise, and Pacers goes 1-4 in that stretch.
Last 5 Games 36.6 8.2-20.8 .394 2.8-8.4 .333 6.4-7.8 .821 7.4 3.6 0.2 1.6 2.6 3.4 25.6
PG needs help.. teams are locked in on him and monta ellis and hill has been wildly inconsistent. There is no consistent 2nd option on this team and the bigs are below average. Its going to be a long season
