He really looked like he was playing playground ball at the end, there, didn't he?

Led the team in court time. first time as a Spur?![]()
Spurs win 95-70 to improve to 15-4 on the young season. Undefeated at home...
(I don't know why the ESPN boxscore isn't working...this is from NBA.com)
good win
tough game tomorrow vs the grizzlies
Time to give Simmons all of Manu's minutes and shut Manu down for now.
Trap game
Thrilling game!! So pleased with Simmons and Anderson.
Definitely....hope the good guys take care of business.

Happy for Simmons. That kid deserves more PT.
He is really benefitting from time on the floor with Kawhi. Kawhi looks for him and finds him at spots on the floor where he can succeed. Those two could possibly become a seriously athletic wing combo.
#Tiagoitis
Those two do work good together. It'll be fun watching that develop more.
It is a real shame that Ray wasn't active tonight. Pop could have given him some minutes, too.
We may have to take him out back and shoot him.
I don't know whether I should abandon cautious optimism for giddy excitement.![]()
They have synergy ala Manu/Marco. I guess it's probably b/c they are the two most athletic players on the team& CoJo was Kawhi's BFF so he has now taken Simmons under his wing.

I think that synergy is a huge positive for Simmons ("Wow, the team's best player/all-star is looking for me!"). But it is also a fantastic sign of Kawhi's growth, now into mentoring the new guys. THAT really excites me.
Agree on this. There was a lot of garbage time with Patty and Diaw. Instead of Diaw we could have seen Anderson at the 4 and Ray at the 1. As it was we saw a lot of Anderson at the 1 at the end and it is clear he's too slow for that.
We might have forced other guys to shoot the 3 too w/o Diaw and Mills.
I can't believe they only credited one block to Anderson. I swear he makes more defensive plays in games than the scoreboard reflects.
It's certainly an exciting turn I wasn't expecting this season. As long as Simmons continues to produce I can see Pop giving him the minutes. It's only been two games but there's something there. I'd love to know if Leonard works with him in practice at all.
Yeah, but then he just gets garbage time play. I wish Pop would give Ray a couple of minutes with the regular rotation players, as he has gradually done with Simmons. In fact, to this point Pop looks like he has handled Simmons masterfully, finding the perfect situations to pair him with Kawhi and give him meaningful minutes with the regular rotation players. That's what he also did earlier with Kyle, to Kyle's benefit. After the last stretch of 3-4 games when Simmons has shown real improvement, it will be interesting to see whether he or Kyle gets into games first. Likely depends on opponent. We might be watching the nascent careers of a couple of long-term Spurs! Getting back to Ray, Pop seems to be getting the deep bench guys up to speed on a staggered basis. Ray's time may yet come, say, in January. We fans are a lot less patient than Pop!
I don't believe we would be witnessing that level of synergy in these last few games if that weren't the case.
