You lose a guy like Lincoln Riley, you have to cut the HC some slack to find another one like him. Last year during their 8-5 season, they were #6 in total offense. This year without Riley, they are #50 sitting at 5-7 with tough losses to Florida, BYU and Navy.

Hurtt coached under Strong at Louisville after receiving a show-cause penalty for recruiting violations at Miami.
He has been cleared by the NCAA, but UT officials would have to decide if this is a risk they're willing to take.
