he's been averaging 3.5 assists in his last 10 games, which is solid. when that number gets close to 5 (and the rest of his game stays this strong), i'd say he's as good as anybody in the nba

We saw Jabari yesterday and he isn't the same after the surgery... Kawhi is better than any Parker in the league.

He's been the 2nd best player this season, but I wouldn't go so far as to say he's the 2nd best player in the league. It's a little premature for that.

Right. Let him have a full season of domination first.

The assist stat matters to me but at the same time it doesn't. The assist stat is especially different for teams like the Spurs because they always make an extra pass. Plus people still need to realize that it requires for a teammate to actually make the shot. It doesn't indicate that a player doesn't pass the ball. Players like Westbrook and Rondo are averaging high assist numbers because their teams don't particularly move the ball well. A defense is so worried about Westbrook's penetration the he can get someone a wide open jumper or drop it off in the paint easily. We don't run that style so teams defend it differently.

I'm not attacking your post specifically, btw. I just wanted to state that.

He's like a computer, it's crazy how fast he picks things up. His form from 3 looked very good in the preseason, didn't know he was going to be dropping 3's like this though. His shot looked off last year with all the injuries, had to get back in the gym during the summer to correct it.

His assist numbers would be much better if Green could knock down a shot, no idea how many assists have been wasted on him this year.

Why is it whenever one of you posts something like this, the other one is all up on his immediately, with the next post?

There are fresh new threads about Kawhi all over the forum, and you have to start one with no comment other than some stupid emoticon? I always thought "coke " was the lowest thing you could be. But "attention " is now at the top of the list.

22 ppg/ 8 RPG/ 3 Apg with efficient shooting should easily get him a top 3 MVP vote if the Spurs are +60 win team, IMO..

Going to be tough in a league with LeBron Durant Westbrook CP3 Blake George and Davis. The award is going to Curry unless something crazy happens.

The Spurs are not on anyone's radar as far as individuals go even with Kawhi playing like he has been. Additionally we are such a good team that it often prevents any individual from getting the credit they deserve.

The advanced metrics folks will take care of him, IMO.but other than that, it won't be easy as the way things are right now, i see Kawhi number tailing off a bit at the end with Pop going to rest mode if we have a comfortable margin for that 2nd seed (already up 4 games in Loss column) and the Warriors out of reach which we all expect them to be..Knowing Pop Jonathon Simmons is sure as starting in one those Dubs games in April ..

Good thing we didn't trade him for Beal and Ariza. Idiots trying to give up top 5 talent.

Do you really think the people who vote for MVPs are that well-steeped in advanced stats? I'm sure he'll get discussion, but even if he balls out like this all season I sense him finishing no higher than 5th. Kobe is retiring, the Dubs are killing fools, and two major contenders in the West are in complete disarray. No one cares that the Spurs are dominant again -- that's the story every year.

We'll see though. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised. He's got at least Sir Charles making noise for him, so that's something.

Only if the Spurs crack 60-win, I think he has a chance at 3rd-4rth vote placing..Irving is going to take some load off Lebron so the latter might coast a bit and play less minutes..AD's Pelicans record will cost him (and playing worse overall than last year)..Harden is way too inefficient and Rockets won't sniff second seed..Chris Paul has been hobbled all season long, missing games left and right and could be declining.. Griffin/Lebron/ and West-brook/Durant (they will split votes) will be Kawhi main compe ion for second best to Curry'..

Actually this year is set up very well for Kawhi to win the MVP. They play a load of playoff teams at the end of the season. If he dominates and the Spurs win like 75%+ of those games, he can easily take it from Curry.

Remember, that is how Kawhi took the DPOY from Green when he dominated the Warriors at season end last year.

Season's young. I am just enjoying the Spurs right now and really grateful the league gave the Spurs a soft schedule early so that could gel and develop and will ready for the grind in the 2nd half of the season.

I don't think it will happen either. But don't be surprise if it does. I didn't think Kawhi was going to win DPOY (after missing so much time), but he dominated down the stretch and the game against GSW sealed it for him.

But Kawhi is the best two way player in the league right now. I think many analyst (like Chuck), coaches, and media members know this. But right now, Curry is the leader of the pack by a good margin.

You need to stop acting like a got for once.

Does it hurt your feelings when you don't get attention or something? Not enough love as a child?
