This exchange between Paulie and Feech in The Sopranos is gold
Great actor. But you know.. dude was geriatric a decade ago.
RiP el Patron. Frank Lopez.
"never get high on your own supply"
Don't kill me. I got 10 million. In a vault in Spain. We get on a plane is all yours Tony.
all those haters on Scarface. It's a top 10 for me. Epic.
Yup. A lot of stuff was new . Loggia really set up the scene for the successful drug dealer that Tony fell in love with. Loggias acting was superb.
That plus the hotness of Elvira. Sosa and his coca empire. Even bombing at the UN. Not to mention the epic finale. Movie had it all. But what really took it to another level was the scenes with the Colombians. They were real berraco Colombians actors too, not Mexican actors like most other movies.
Did you ever see that do entary about the making of it. Ran a month or so ago a few times. Pretty interesting about
the behind the scenes issues and the turmoil between DePalma and Stone. Made me appreciate this me scope of it a little more.
i thought he passed away awhile back but still a really cool actor, one of those types that makes every movie better. RIP.
it is a classic though I prefer De Palma's Body Double a bit more, probably for the weird porn angle. both have killer soundtracks and memorable visuals though.
i also prefer Gina over Elvira, just dig that darker, kinky hair look.
Body Double was cool. Saw that 20 times on HBO. Blow Out was also a damn good DePalma movie.
1. Phantom of the Paradise - Don't know what it is but I love everything about this film.
2. The Untouchables - Only thing keeping this from being a near-perfect film is Kevin Costner......imo
3. Body Double - det delicious 80's cheese
4. Dressed to Kill
5. Scarface
6. Blow Out
I guess I need to check out Dressed to Kill and maybe PotP.
One of my favorite scenes is the train station scene from Untouchables. I don't like Costner much either. But he was OK for the role IMO. At least as far as the character should look. But yeah...his acting is always just off enough to make you notice. Not sure who else from that time would have fit the role AND been a big draw.
Just checked IMDB
I guess there's several that might have have worked:
Bruce Willis
Tom Hanks (although I don't think he was doing serious roles then)
Harrison Ford
Sean Penn
Mel Gibson
Nancy Allen is the reason I rated DTK and BO lower, tbh...just an amateur that happened to be DePalma's wife. DTK is worth the watch for the opening scene alone
I didn't realize they were married. At least he didn't cast her over Melanie Griffith in Body Double. LOL
Laurent.. is dead.
