I must say I am really curious to see if Draymond can hold up vs. spurs front-line. Bogut will take Tim and be solid but can Green stop LMA? And if they go small can Barnes check LMA? Iggy will also have to match up with Kiwi. I think the most interesting matchups would be the big 4 Gstate, LAC, OKC and SAS With rox just outside of that once healthy. I know people are dismissing seeding but you are right after the top 5 the West is mediocre. Getting the 1/8 and winner of 4/5 is part of why the Dubs were "lucky" last year. 1 seed will have a good advantage on the field ...though Cavs will have it even easier.
Don't think the LMA vs Draymond matchup would be the most decisive one. If LMA's shot is falling then Green can't do much to stop him, but it still wouldn't be enough to beat GS because someone has to match the Curry/Thompson production. Kawhi can do some of it but someone else would have to step up and Parker can no longer be that guy. I think the Spurs would try to take Thompson away, like they tried with Red , as he's not exactly a proven playoff performer. Still, GS seem like the clear favourite currently.

The Grizz are in a tough spot. They owe two future 1st round picks so they can't exactly just blow it up.

It's amazing to me that Chris Wallace essentially made no moves this off season. Teams that were already better than us made moves or at least attempted to improve their rosters and we simply stood pat. Wallace must think we're ing Golden State or something. Should have entertained any and all trade offers for anyone not named Gasol or Conley. Pera made a huge mistake putting CW back in charge of the FO. He should be looking over his shoulder and worrying about his job security instead of worrying about how much General Tso's he's going to stuff on his plate at the next buffet.

Marcol Gasol acting soft and never brandishing a threat to leave Grizzlies in his free agency shows, unlike Pau, how not ambitious enough he is about winning a Championships..He's stuck in Bulls situation without the big market and in a cut-throat conference..I mean, seriously, a FO thinking an overrated borderline cancer like Jeff Green and and a done Vince Carter are going to take them to the next level ..

Small time city, small time franchise, small time management. They care more about selling yellow towels and Grindfather T-shirts than they do making sure we don't lose any more draft picks.

Over the past few matchups Kawhi has all but taken Thompson out of the game, limiting him to less than 10 points while Green has done well enough on Curry (something like 18 PPG iirc, maybe closer to 20). If Kawhi and Green can combine for 30+ points on the other end the rest of the team can easily outscore GS. The main issues will come down to health (like usual) and whether or not Pop tries to let Parker guard Curry from the get-go.

losing by 20 to this Blazers team..Some rumblings about Joerger position could be in jeopardy by mid season, which is pathetic, tbh..It is roster/talent issue, first and foremost..

Chris Wallace is the one that needs to be fired. He has botched every single draft he's been apart of.

And yeah, it's time to blow this sucker up.

Here it is..A Marc Stein sources confirm that Joerger will be in the hotseat soon if this slow start persists and that Owner Robert Pera may reach out to hire Thibs..

Joerger’s “old” comment, meanwhile, reads like a thinly veiled critique of the recent choices from Memphis’ front-office tag team of Chris Wallace and John Hollinger, from trades (Jeff Green) and signings (Vince Carter and Matt Barnes) that haven’t had the desired effect to the drafting of Adams over Rodney Hood to a longstanding need for more shooting that persists.
The biggest source of vulnerability for Joerger, of course, is the fact that Pera has internally questioned Joerger's leadership in the past and nearly fired him once before, only to patch things up in a stunning about-face in May 2014 when Joerger, deep in talks with the Minnesota Timberwolves, got a new three-year contract. Another potential complication: Pera is known to be a huge fan of Tom Thibodeau, has pursued him before and could be moved to make a run at Thibs before someone else does.

They're always a disappointment, tbh ..nostalgia from fans and media that grew up watching conventional teams..

I'm not a fan of Dave Joerger, but I'm not a fan of Thibs either.

But Chris Wallace does need to be the first to go.

It's got nothing to do with Joerger or Hollins, just like Golden State's 24-0 record has nothing to do with Josh Pastner's butt buddy Luke Walton. It's a player's league. Grit and Grind has been ground to a halt.

True. Age is catching up to this team faster than the Spurs.
ZBo looks even slower than ever as does Gasol and Allen is slowing too.

They are going to have to make some major moves in the next year- two at the max to remain compe ive.

I wonder if they max out Conley in free agency..he has been sort of underwhelming this season and has probably hit his ceiling at 28 yo..If i were Memphis, i would try to find something on the cheap and upgrade the roster in other areas..something has to be drastically shaken up there..

I am a big fan of Conley, but that team needs to do some real hard staring at the mirror and be honest with themselves.
They are not a contender unless an unprecedented amount of injuries happen throughout the league.

    They aren't even close.

They need to move some guys they might have considered untouchable to change the dynamic of them as a whole and provide themselves with an avenue of progress, not stagnation.
