The father of Sayed Farook tells Italian media his son became "obsessed against Israel and supported ISIS."

When did the father know the son was like this?

    smh at US mainstream media.
What does this have to do with mainstream media? Reports I read have the father coming home drunk and physically abusing Mom. The son saw this. They went to counciling etc... The legal system got involved and dad was not at home much. I think they were divorced but I'm not sure if I remember.

so what is your gripe with the US media on this?

MM babbled on for 3 days with repe ive old news. To me as soon as the father said the son had been radicalized for a long time that should have front and center news. Along with the babysitting Mom whom the news is now out that she most likely was in on the whole thing.

Also kinda weird that the breaker was "An Italian media outlet", altho that could have been by design of Farook Sr.

He is on the record for domestic violence; being an abusive alcoholic. So we are immediately going to believe him and see if it sticks? That's how knee jerk, bad journalism works. You look into the sources to make sure there is no reason for them to lie.

So this has what to do with US mainstream journalism? Oh I get it. Good journalism actually loses readers who are skeptical (but not paranoid) when the paper jumps the gun and screws up. You want your info now.

I will give you two places to get now info with little to zero analysis or bad analysis that are in the US, Fox and CNN. The TV sites are not interested in tired old news that takes time to get the facts straight. CNN might be as they do very repe ive stuff actually. 6 months from now you will probably get some excellent stuff on all this.

    But you won't read it.

True that what i meant by both the fathers saying the son has been radicalized for a long time and the search of the mothers car turning up all kinds of incriminating chit, along with some news (more to come) that she belonged to a fringe wacko group (not direct ISIS like the son and daughter in law but an ISIS sympathizing group).....

Ya, not that those two were planned collaboration, but rather that both lead to the same conclusion. Both Mom and Pop knew son was radicalized. The dad admittedly does, I'm not buying his defense liarwyers deflection that the medication did the talking. The mother of Farook Jr, i think it will come out she was in on the whole damn thing. Two bedrooms with all kinds of sinister chit coming in and out but she knows nothing? Rrright.

Did they ever talk about it with each other (Mom and Pop)? I dunno. As you stated, reports are the Dad may have beaten the Mom so maybe they were on the outs.
OTOH since UnIslamic bullchit teaching allow husbands to take a dump on the wives, who knows.

San Bernardino Attack: Visas, Wives and Terror

The FBI is investigating whether the marriage between the San Bernardino killers was a cover for long-planned jihad, as other questions have been raised about another suspect nuptial and the potential abuse of the government’s visa program.
Asked today by lawmakers if the marriage between Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik, who together killed 14 people at an office holiday party last week, could have been arranged by a terror group or was simply a meeting of radical minds, FBI Director James Comey said, “I don’t know the answer to that… It would be a very, very important thing to know.”

Farook and Malik’s marriage isn’t the only one garnering su ion. In the midst of the investigation into Farook’s family, new details have emerged about the use and possible abuse of the government marriage citizenship program involving Enrique Marquez, the man who officials told ABC News originally bought two of the weapons used in the San Bernardino attack.

Just the day before the armed assault on a room of defenseless office workers, Marquez was lamenting to a friend about his troubled "marriage."
“There's always that one person that goes further to make the other one happy,” Marquez said then, according to his friend Viviana Ramirez. “He says it was more like codependency.”
Among the many peculiar aspects in the life of 24-year-old Marquez -- beyond the punk rock lover's sporadic appearances at a local mosque, his apparent inability to hold down a job and his possible decision to purchase assault rifles for a man who apparently didn’t want his name on a gun registry -- was Marquez’s marriage to Mariya Chernykh.
Chernykh, 25, moved from Russia to the United States in 2009, joining her sister Tatiana, who is married to Syed Raheel Farook, the brother of San Bernardino shooter Syed Rizwan Farook. California man Vram Kupelian said he dated Chernykh for more than a year around the time she moved to the U.S. Both worked at the Montebello Mall – Chernykh sold cell phone cases at kiosks, a business owned by Tatiana, according to state records.
Kupelian said Chernykh initially came to U.S. to visit her sister, but decided to stay because she liked living in America.

Kupelian said Chernykh initially came to U.S. to visit her sister, but decided to stay because she liked living in America.
How Chernykh was introduced to Marquez is unclear, but when Chernykh submitted a citizenship application after she and Marquez signed their marriage license, it was Syed Raheel Farook who stepped in and vouched for Marquez, saying he would have the financial means to support his new wife.
Other than the marriage certificate Marquez and Chernykh signed on Nov. 29, 2014, however, there is very little evidence that the two were a real married couple, according to friends, public records, and a review of social media accounts.
Chernykh shared an address not with Marquez, but with another man, Oscar Romero, according to public records. Chernykh and Romero posed frequently in photos together with a baby girl, whom they refer to as their daughter, until just two months before Chernykh’s marriage to Marquez when all mention of Oscar Romero disappears from Chernykh’s page. Chernykh took Romero’s name, calling herself Maria Romero on Russian social media sites, even after the marriage. And Romero referred to her as his wife on one of his social media accounts. Chernykh’s social media page was taken down after ABC News reached out for comment for this report.
Michael G. Scott, a friend of Marquez’s from the local punk rock scene, told ABC News that Marquez told him he was married, but Scott never met the wife. “It was like an arranged marriage,” Scott said.
Viviana Ramirez told ABC News that Marquez had said he met Chernykh through a friend, but beyond that, he really wouldn’t talk about the marriage. “Whenever he would talk about it, he would look sad,” Ramirez said. “He never really talked about her or brought her around, but it just didn’t seem like it was going in a positive direction.”

Bernard Wolfsdorf, an immigration lawyer based out of Los Angeles, said the unusual cir stances surrounding Chernykh’s marriage to Marquez would likely attract the interest of immigration authorities.
“Most of these officers are really good at spotting fake marriages,” Wolfsdorf said.
Wolfsdorf said authorities would be looking for evidence of shared bank accounts and joint finances between Chernykh and Marquez, and at online evidence that the two were actually together.
“They like to see photographs and pictures, ‘Here we are going on holiday together; Here we are at my mother-in-law’s house for Thanksgiving, Christmas,’” he said.
Friends of Marquez said they believe that is a relationship he was craving, but did not have.
“The last time I heard from him was Tuesday night I believe,” Ramirez said, referring to the night before Farook and Malik’s attack. “He messaged me… about relationships. How one person loves the other one more than -- you know, it's more one-sided than them together. Does that make sense?”
Another friend, who declined to be identified, told ABC News that Marquez seemed to “genuinely care about her and her child.”
As for the killer couple themselves, Farook and Malik were married in the eyes of U.S. law in August 2014 after Malik entered the U.S. on a so-called fiancé visa a month before, but international officials and family friends indicated they could have been married abroad previously. Comey said earlier in his testimony that the two could have been radicalized, separately or together, by the end of 2013. A family friend of Malik in Pakistan previously told ABC News the couple met through family members as early as 2009, but an attorney for Farook’s family has said the couple found each other online and only met in 2013.
Both Cherynykh sisters and Romero did not respond to request for comment left on voicemail and through social media.

And it might have absolutely nothing to do with the shootings. We are given a glimpse into possible blind alleyways investigators have to deal with. For me, this highlights what is so difficult about the public wanting quick answers, and the investigation taking time. By the time we know the full story this might no longer be news of interest, replaced by another "mass" shooting or another plane gone missing.

    It is weird though.

Ted Cruz Won’t Stop Lying About the San Bernardino Attack

The Texas senator keeps blaming President Obama for failing to heed a warning that didn’t even occur before the attack

On Dec. 4, two days after a husband and wife shot 14 people to death in San Bernardino, California, Sen. Ted Cruz spoke at a gun shop and shooting range in Iowa. Cruz staged the event to promote gun rights and to criticize President Obama for failing to prevent the attack.

    He told the crowd:

We know that the man flew to Saudi Arabia. We know that he came in contact apparently with a number of individuals on the terror watch list. We know that the woman was apparently communicating [on] social media with ISIS terrorists, pledging her allegiance to ISIS. Let me ask a question: Why on earth did the Obama administration not know this ahead of time, and stop them before they carried out this terror attack?

I’ll tell you why: because the so-called “communication” with ISIS wasn’t communication, and it didn’t occur until the attack was underway.

Cruz has made a career of misrepresenting evidence, cir stances, statements, and people. This is a particularly egregious case. Let’s start with his insinuation that Obama should have anticipated the attack based on communications between the husband, Syed Farook, and people on the terror watch list. FBI Director James Comey, who was originally appointed to be deputy attorney general by President George W. Bush—and was later confirmed as FBI director with Cruz’s support—discredited that theory in a press conference on Dec. 4:

Cruz isn't my "boy" and you might want to fact check your article.

The couple who launched the terror attack in San Bernardino were both radicalized before they met online and had some confirmed connection to ISIS, the director of the FBI revealed today.

FBI Director James Comey revealed the new information about the couple, who were killed by police following the deadly shooting, during testimony on Capitol Hill.

Blockbuster Allegation: DHS, State Halted Investigation Into Islamist Group Linked To San Bernardino Terrorists

Customs and Border Patrol analyst Phil Haney tracked members of the Islamist Deobandi movement with which Sayed Farook and his wife, Tashfeen Malik, were affiliated. But the Department of Homeland Security deleted the records, then disciplined and retaliated against him when he blew the whistle, he says.
Haney said he worked in Passenger Analysis Units at the Department of Homeland Security in Atlanta and at the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s National Targeting Center, where he performed research into people and groups that might be linked to terrorism. He identified members of al-Huda and Tablighi Jamaat, subgroups of the Deobandi Movement, a century-old fundamentalist Islamic group originating in Pakistan, as they traveled into and out of the United States. An association with Tablighi Jamaat has been do ented by the French in an estimated 80% of terrorism cases. Dar Al Uloom Mosque, frequented by Sayed Farook, is linked with the Deobandi Movement. Tashfeen Malik studied with Al-Huda in Pakistan.
Haney was given an agency award for his work identifying potential terrorists and he was asked to become part of the National Targeting Center, which works to connect the dots between radical figures and groups, he said. After more than six months tracking the Deobandi movement, Homeland Security halted the investigation at the urging of the State Department’s Office of Civil Rights, Haney said.
The agencies asserted that since the Islamist groups in question were not Specially Designated Terrorist Organizations, tracking individuals related to these groups was a violation of the their civil liberties, according to Haney. “The administration was more concerned about the civil rights and liberties of foreign Islamic groups with terrorist ties than the safety and security of Americans,” Haney said. He met with the DHS Inspector General in 2013, in coordination with several Members of Congress. DHS and the Justice Department then subjected him to investigations, none of which showed wrongdoing, he said. In September 2014, they sequestered him, revoked his access to the database and revoked his security clearance.
In a televised interview with Megyn Kelly of Fox News, Haney said that if he’d been allowed to continue his investigation, Malik’s visa application would have been flagged for greater scrutiny.
