Weird. Just signed Brett Brown to a contract extension too.

Great fit. Okafor, Noel and Embiid are prototypical D'Antoni players.

No surprise though seeing how Jerry owned the Suns organization. Hiring your friends never gets old I guess.

If the NBA were like the NFL he'd be an elite offensive coordinator tbh

If they draft Ben Simmons and get some shooters, and 3&D guys in FA, they could start getting better faster than you think.

either D'Antoni has fallen this low or he's given a track to the HC job by Colangelo if Brown doesn't improve things as the top guy..

Probably both. They gave Brown $$$ now they have the noose set up. I have no doubt that they'd fire Brown if they struggle next year. But as a neutral observer Brown>d'Antoni as far as coaching skill.

The only way this makes sense is if Brown and d'Antoni are friends from the international circuit

This could be the Lakers chance to poach injured Embiid from them. Pringles hate big men.

I think so..D'antoni has been trying to get hired for a while now but failed after the Lakers/Knicks disasters (interviewed for Denver and Orlando), and given the Suns connection between him and Colangelo, this clearly more than a typical assistantship tenure..Brown extension is in great part a loyalty package for sticking medicority out with them for past 3 years...Hopefully Brett luck out with Simmons in the draft and they make some vet moves, i really want to see him prove his coaching chops..

This is really a job for Larry Brown. No one else could turn that program around.
