Its hard to like a sport where a dominant champions run like Weidman is usually 1 year. Floyd, Ali, Robinson, Leonard, Hagler...these guys were dominating for years. The truth is that in MMA you can lose in a number of ways compared to boxing where you can only really lose through fisticuffs. But thats one of the reasons why I actually dislike MMA.

While everyone has an agenda here, I'll just state my case.
The guy who lost hadn't fought for 14mo. His prior fight went to decision. He did not look special at the time, he was aggressive in the early rounds but just traded punches in later rounds. Neutral obsv would say he split that fight but they fight in Brazil and Aldo is a star so the judges said 49_46 . Basically I knew aldo was done then.
The 2014 was mendes. Connor punched out mendes a few months ago.
This was a fight to unify the le. It took place so ufc could sell the long awaited fight.
Prime Aldo was a scary disciplined fighter. In a division that became a bunch of over stimulated short Americans who dance around each other and try to volume punch each other I always rooted for Aldo. It can be fu to watch guys like mendes, Faber, Edgar, etc, but I'm glad Connor Macgregor isn't a perfectly polished fighter and gets the knockout's he says he will
Basically what we saw in that short clip is about the same as post Achilles Kobe. Connor Macgregor is the 2013 spurs sweeping out the aging pretenders.
