I was hoping he would be. I don't like him as an OC but he certainly has value as a recruiter and WR coach.
Gilbert should give a boost in the head to head recruitments with Baylor.
via twitter potential transfer qb? http://247sports.com/Player/Riley-Ferguson-2035
That most recent follow by Sterlin Gilbert is certainly interesting.]Sterlin Gilbert was apparently OOS today recruiting. I would bet it was his most recent follow Riley Ferguson. Jumped on him quick.Mattox was also the OC at Coffeville for a year.....where this JUCO QB is from.

Can't find a bit of tape on him.
Some nice throws. Not as exciting as Prukop but I'm not against it.
Here's the official tape for JUCO QB Riley Ferguson of Coffeyville C.C.:

@EJHolland247: S/O to the dude Tristen Wallace (@Official_Wall5) on his new commitment to Oregon. Excited to see what he can do in that offense.
Looks like Tristen Wallace won't pursue a QB career. He's committed to Oregon as a WR/ATH.
OrangeBloods reporting Coach Gilbert did indeed meet with JUCO QB Riley Ferguson in his hometown today.
The staff is supposed to meet tomorrow to decide if they will extend an offer.
He currently plans on making a decision this week, but a UT offer could change his timeline.
Coach Mattox did an in-home visit with him today, per 24/7.
smart and no wonder Ohio St was after Buechele.
According to 24/7, CB Eric Cuffee of Waco High has A&M and UT as his two leaders currently after his official visit to Austin.
He mentioned he may move his commitment back to National Signing Day.
Per 24/7, Strong had an in-home visit with OL Jean Delance this evening.
He took Coach Mattox with him.
Scout saying UT had another in-home visit with S Brandon Jones today.
Not sure which coaches were there, but I'm guessing it was several.
Scout reporting OL JP Urquidez of Copperas Cove will take an official visit to UT in January once the dead period is over.
Also, Coach Mattox had an in-home visit with OL Zach Shackelford today as well.
I think you go ahead and go after him. Texas badly needs a real stop gap until Buechele is ready.
Strong finished out last year's recruiting class amazingly well. Hopefully he can do it again.
You go after anyone who well be an upgrade, regardless of position.
