Go get Whiteside, Mitch.
Dwight Howard is extremely unhappy in Houston playing second fiddle to alpha dog James Harden, multiple league sources tell SheridanHoops.com. And with the Rockets underachieving more than any NBA team, look for them to try to move Howard later this season. And the destination that makes the most sense is Miami in a trade centered around Hassan Whiteside.
First of all, unless the Heat renounce their rights to Dwyane Wade, NBA salary cap rules will preclude them from offering Whiteside his full market value. Miami would be able to offer between $8-9 million, which is at least half of what the kid can get on the open market. On a full max deal, Whiteside would be looking at a $90 million payday, and nobody walks away from a $90 million payday.
So he’s a goner, one way or another. And the Heat know it.
The solution? Trade him while you can still trade him for something of value. And no place would be a better fit for Howard than Miami, with its geriatric roster built around Wade and Chris Bosh. If you are Riley, and your two best players are in their 30s, why not add a third 30-something and take a swing at Cleveland with that?
It not only is plausible, it is reasonable.

At this point, hasn't Dwight proven he's a loser no matter where he plays or whom he plays with?
I kind of view him in a similar way I view Carmelo. There's really no team either makes better at this point in their respective careers, even as role players. Regression of athleticism and/or skills combined with the ego each carries makes each a near impossible fit anywhere.
Why the would miami keep wade over whiteside? If anything he should resign on a min contract to make numbers work.
Man did Miami themselves over with Dragic. No way they can salary dump him with four years on his deal. Wade's not taking another paycut, he's going to probably cost them $25 million a season or worse.
rockets should get whiteside and mcroberts in return.
Don't want that scrub Howard. Cousins on the other hand I like.
I want them to trade Whiteside for Dwight. It would be a win win for the Magic.
The Heat should give Wade the Paul Pierce treatment & trade him to a desperate team like the Pelicans (Tyreke/Anderson for Wade)
throw in D-West too for a 1 year Whiteside rental to be our 4th big
talk about ing D-West over after he took a massive payout to come pay for us
In a very Lakers-esque move, they've basically pledged their allegiance to him and want him to retire a lifetime Heater, and he wants the same. He's made it clear he wants near-max money this offseason after taking a big pay-cut to have Lebron and Bosh in town all those years, even though he's well past his prime and doesn't deserve it, and Miami apparently is going to give it him (which is dumb, but still seems likely).
But I'm with you, if I'm Pat Riley, I say take a contract that you're worth or pack your bags and go home to Chicago or wherever.
So he's not happy in Houston because Harden is the #1 guy but he looks at Miami as a destination where he'd be the 3rd guy on that team?
Laughable.
Howard is a little . He's not going to be that guy anymore. He had it with the Magic so he's SOL now.
ClutchFans melting down right now. If you want to see some extremely unrealistic trade proposals involving Dwight for other stars or young lottery picks, I recommend you stop by there right now.
Link me bruh, or better yet copypaste them.

Houston In:
John Wall
Nene Hilario
Jared Dudley
Washington In:
Dwight Howard
Trevor Ariza
Terrence Jones
Both offenses and defenses get better. Ours because we'll have a chance to actually get back on D, them because Ariza and Dwight play really solid defense like they always have. We both get better on offense because all three guys shoot well and move the ball around. They get better because they can play inside out with Dwight. Beal shoots like he was born to the sound of a swish and Gary Neal is shooting really well for them as well.

Can't make teams better, needs to constantly switch teams to avoid getting pissy

Howard and Jones
for
Bledsoe, Morris, & Goodwin
DMtheGM pulls some picks away from the Suns, too. (Or not) We put in picks. (Or not) Just make this trade please
Lawson, Brewer, & Bev anywhere but here for any positive value --> 3 point shooting from any position --> just spacing and scoring off the bench. We have defence already on our bench.
Bledsoe, Harden, Ariza, Morris, & DMo PLUS a bench, too. This season just got real interesting.
Dwight is done. But he has played hard in Houston. Harden can get the out though.
