ESPN sources say the Houston Rockets have trade interest in Markieff Morris, who was a DNP-CD in the Suns' narrow loss Sunday to Memphis

    Marc Stein @ESPNSteinLine
Remains to be seen if other suitors emerge for Markieff Morris, which becomes easier Dec. 15 when 100+ new players become trade eligible

Sources: Clippers gauged trade interest for Lance Stephenson, Josh Smith

By Marc J. Spears 2 hours ago Yahoo Sports

The Los Angeles Clippers gauged trade interest in Lance Stephenson and Josh Smith last month, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Stephenson can be traded now while Smith is not eligible to be dealt until Dec. 15 after signing as a free agent in the offseason. Two NBA executives told Yahoo Sports that the Clippers would have hard time trading the struggling newcomers who have not fit in well during the team's slow start.

After the first season of his three-year, $27 million contract, the Charlotte Hornets traded Stephenson on June 16 to the Clippers for Spencer Hawes and forward Matt Barnes. Entering Monday, Stephenson was averaging 5.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 19 minutes in 19 games for the Clippers. He started 10 games, but was demoted with his last start coming Nov. 12.

Smith was averaging career-lows in points (5.4), rebounds (4.3), field-goal percentage (.386) and minutes (15.4) through the first 20 games this season. He signed a one-year deal paying the veteran's minimum in the offseason.

The Orange County Register previously reported that Smith was involved in a loud shouting match with a Clippers assistant coach following a 90-81 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Nov. 21. The assistant in question was Mike Woodson, a source told Yahoo. Woodson coached Smith in Atlanta.

The Clippers have also been open to trading guard Jamal Crawford since the offseason, sources Yahoo.

Grizz should get in on that. It'd change the match up against the Spurs at least (provided Anderson is done choking in the postseason)...

That's the first piece of compelling news about the trade market. Dude has the value to get multiple firsts even being an expiring.

the Pelicans who are just 3 games up in the loss columns from the Lakers but still hopeful about the playoffs it seems ..

New Orleans upcoming four games are against direct compe ion for 8th seed : @Utah, @Phoenix @ Denver, vs Portland..if they go 0-4 or 1-3, i'm not sure why this team wouldn't consider cutting bait to tank the season..

Not sure the Grizz have anything the Pelicans want, but I'd love to have Ryan Anderson. Probably could have swapped Zbo for him in the offseason.

The worst idea that crossed my mind was, what if they trade Harden for Anus Kanter and fillers. I'd die

    Thanks, I made it myself.

But it would have looked better if Cassel had gone 2-2 or something in Romo's absence instead of 0-4.

I disagree. Markieff would be a better fit next to Marc at this point.

Would not make the team better than they can be right now with Randolph. They won't win a ring either way, but their ceiling with just this trade is lower than standing pat.

You're right, one trade isn't going to fix anything. If they were going to "retool" the roster around Conley and Gasol, the time to do it was 2-3 years ago. Or even last year. No one has any real trade value anymore except Mike and Marc, so it needs to be blown up.
