It was obvious to anyone that Kobe was deliberately missing shots, deliberately milking the shot clock, and was taking maximum difficulty shots. He is smart enough to know how the modern game is played.
We saw it last year when the Lakers beat the spurs. They win when they want to which is not often due to tanking.
Either they've abandoned the deliberate tanking or see taking a break.

I remember the time I went on this spiritual journey to find the righteous path to self-enlightenment. I gave up meat, booze, television and women.. yup, women. Get back to me at the end of the season when we see his season averages, and then we'll talk. His start to the season was so atrocious (even by his standards), some regression to the mean was expected.
