The good news from this game is that Rockets are moving up in the standings so the Spurs won't have to play them in the 1st rd, thank you Tony/Pop. OKC also lost so the Spurs didn't lose ground on the 2nd seed either.

It was just another typical performance on the road by the Spurs against a good team. That's normal for the Spurs this season to play this bad against a good team on the road. They're really lacking mental toughness and a go-to scorer in crunch time.
You are right so far this season. I may quit watching their road games.

Keep your pride, I'll take the championship.
We're 5 back on the Warriors. We're not being them without HCA.

We can beat them without it ala 2005 Suns as long as we don't play like we did tonight.

Tony gave his abysmal worst effort of the season, and LMA was not far behind. Pitiful. Pop needs to send Tony to Austin!
LMA was okay, it was Pop that refused to give him the ball against T-Jones. Plus, Kawhi should be running PnRs w/ LMA to finish game rather than turning LMA into a spotup shooter like Bonner. Manu dribbling then throwing the ball to Kawhi & asking for a bailout shot isn't going to cut it.

Okay, Uriel, I'm calling you out about how badly the Spurs played tonight.

What.The. were they thinking there at the end. Two possession game, and they didn't get a shot up until deep into the clock? Timmy throwing that pass away when they got the stop? I could go on and on but that was just a horribly played game.
We were down by 4 with about 39 secondos left and let them run a full 24 second possession, so that we were going to get the ball back down by 4 or 6 with 13 seconds left. Why? Not nearly enough time to let them take a full 24. Had to foul early!

It was a 4-point loss on the road against a team many expected to be the SW division champs to begin the year. We didn't play our best game, but most teams would kill to be in our position, given how the Rockets played that game as if it were Game 7 of the NBA Finals.

I'm not really calling you out, bud. I get your point. But this was the Spurs at their worst. This was not the team that had racked up the biggest point differential in the league. It was just one of those nights when everyone is off their game. But they still had lots of opportunities - and they threw them away. And the clock management at the end? That's just not Spurs basketball. If they can keep it this close on a really bad night, that's good. But it was still a really bad night.

I was talking about when they didn't get a shot up on that last possession, knowing they were down 4 and had to score twice. The defensive play was the right thing to do. They missed the steal, and then couldn't catch the ball handler to foul. They had to run out that clock and hope for a stop.

The point is, if they had finished on just a few point blank shots, and moved the ball, they wouldn't have been behind by 4.

Tony got outplayed by the worst ranked point guard this season (Lawson) & the oldest rotation point guard in the league (Terry). Would have been a close victory if he showed up, tbh.

the big 3 were not themselves tonight. duncan did not wake up until the second half, tony had his worst game, and ginobili was erratic. I hope gino's parents' problems with crime in argentinsa does not hinder his gsme.

LMA was soft from the first possession (and miss) of the game, refusing to take advantage of his advantage over Capela and back him down for a dunk or lay-up but settling for that 8 foot fade-away. He needs to play stronger.

Tim redeemed himself in the 4th quarter sans the dumb full court pass & dribbling the ball of his feet. Manu was part of the 4th quarter push meanwhile Tony did absolutely nothing besides getting raped by Terry

Are you in' kidding me? Capela is longer than LMA & a pretty good defender. It's Terrance Jones that he murdered in the 2014 playoffs & Bobo was manhandling in the post (& getting murder by him on the other end) but Pop refused to give him the ball after he scored on him.
