Tony got outplayed by the worst ranked point guard this season (Lawson) & the oldest rotation point guard in the league (Terry). Would have been a close victory if he showed up, tbh.
Pop needs to jump all over Tony for that lame and stupid effort. Lame and stupid effort by the entire team, really, except a nice stint by Simmons.

Pop was terrible himself so he can't call out the team.

Spurs can't even beat the trash ass roxs and people are talking about beating the dubs.
Spurs own the Dubs just like the Rockets own the Spurs even in a down year

Are you in' kidding me? Capela is longer than LMA & a pretty good defender. It's Terrance Jones that he murdered in the 2014 playoffs & Bobo was manhandling in the post (& getting murder by him on the other end) but Pop refused to give him the ball after he scored on him.
Capela has length, but LMA has the bulk to push him under the bucket and slam him through the basket along with the ball if he gets a little nasty.

The point is, if they had finished on just a few point blank shots, and moved the ball, they wouldn't have been behind by 4.
Would have been down 8 if Kawhi's 3 didn't roll in & Harden made the FT. The Rockets outplayed the Spurs outside of the 2nd quarter when Kawhi went beast mode.

Tim redeemed himself in the 4th quarter sans the dumb full court pass & dribbling the ball of his feet. Manu was part of the 4th quarter push meanwhile Tony did absolutely nothing besides getting raped by Terry
After those two unbelievably bad plays by Tim (especially the pass), how can you say he redeemed himself?

Did you forget than Dwight was camped in the paint daring Tim to hit a jumper

I think Dwight was further out in the paint than you think, and backing that beanpole Capela under the bucket should be a cinch for LMA. The guy has no Nasty in him. Pop needs to instill some of that before he starts coaching his game.

I'm not really calling you out, bud. I get your point. But this was the Spurs at their worst. This was not the team that had racked up the biggest point differential in the league. It was just one of those nights when everyone is off their game. But they still had lots of opportunities - and they threw them away. And the clock management at the end? That's just not Spurs basketball. If they can keep it this close on a really bad night, that's good. But it was still a really bad night.

I was talking about when they didn't get a shot up on that last possession, knowing they were down 4 and had to score twice. The defensive play was the right thing to do. They missed the steal, and then couldn't catch the ball handler to foul. They had to run out that clock and hope for a stop.

The point is, if they had finished on just a few point blank shots, and moved the ball, they wouldn't have been behind by 4.
I know you are talking about the last possession - and I agree. But I disagree with your strategy at the 39-40 second mark. No matter where it is in the shot clock, we need to foul quickly, preserve as much time and extend the game as long as we can. We were not going to make clutch shots and pull this one out anyway, but I do want more than 13 seconds to try to make up a 4point deficit.

Is it too late to put a max pump fake per possession clause in LMAs contract
They're really starting to annoy me

LMA isn't going to drop step & dunk on anyone, that has never been his game. He has been pump faking against everyone, not just 7'1" Capela. He only feels comfortable shooting jump hooks over guys w/ short arms: Blake/T-Jones, at least he isn't Kevin Love

I think all that traveling from Minny to SA and then Houston had us unfocused and a bit fatigued.

Porker said pre-game he would rather be ing his wife than playing on Christmas day & I guess Tim/Manu were missing their kids . Lebron said the same thing & he had a mediocre game.

LMA has been as good or better than I expected. But I thought this game his effort was poor. And yes, whether it has ever been a part of his game before, he needs to have some Nasty when the situation calls for it. All the pump fakes are really annoying, and another poster who claimed to have watched LMA in Portland stated that was not his style back there.

It's been ing 80 degrees in SA today, and the AC froze up yesterday so we won't have it for another 12 hours When my mom woke all of us up for turkey dinner today I woke up sweating in my own ing room, with my shirt off. And it's supposed to be CHRISTMAS, not ing JULY ... and then THIS cluster chicken happens! Horrid day, -7/10.

LMA was soft from the first possession (and miss) of the game, refusing to take advantage of his advantage over Capela and back him down for a dunk or lay-up but settling for that 8 foot fade-away. He needs to play stronger.
I agree. At least be more decisive with the ball. He looked lacksidasical tonight and was just standing around watching. Tony flat out sucked. Just a bad day at the office all around.

    I don't do drugs

I don't believe in mortgaging my health, especially if it entails putting anything carcinogenic in my body. I'm carcinophobic as Trump is xenophobic. that .

it is a prescription drug that can be positive in moderation. That is way better than dying of a heart attack or a stroke cause you cant chill when you are 27
