This is the sole reason these losses are so painful. I could live with only being 3 up on Cleveland and 4 up on OKC.... but being down 5 on GSW is just ing brutal. And there's no kryptonite 8th seed to knock them out for us this time like in 2007.
Since when did GSW become the Spurs kryptonite? If anything it's shaping out to be like 2006 w/ the Spurs playing the Mavs role & preventing the Warriors from repeating.

Spurs are on pace to win 60 plus games which in previous seasons would get you the number 1 seed unfortunately the warriors are on pace for 70. In the grand scheme of things this loss does not matter. Spurs are not going to catch the Warriors the important thing is just to focus on getting better every game and keeping the 2 seed. Not much to dwell about this loss in a nuts the spurs just didn't give a about this game.

If Porker keeps turning into a pussy when there is an elite shot blocker on the floor (Dwight) then it's going to be like the 2014 Mavs series w/ Kawhi having to play the Manu role. It's pretty clear Patty can't guard Lawson & he's only going to get more comfortable in his role as a 6th man as he has been the worst rated point guard in the entire league thus far. Diaw also can't guard Terrance Jones although he can manhandle him in the post. Brewer/Ariza have also been in a season long funk like Danny but can bomb a better team out of a series as we saw them do against the Clippers. Harden also gives Kawhi trouble b/c of his herky jerky style & tends to hit BS dagger 3s against him. D-Mo also will jump hook D-West to death if they are matched up.
That's a sky is falling post if I've ever seen one. We'll be fine against Houston with HCA. We probably win in 5.

We are down 4 on Dubs and up 4.5 on The Thunderrefs who also lost today..
5 down on Dubs. Only look at L column for top teams. Especially in the case of GSW, where L's come scarce as hen's teeth.

The problem here is that Houston's lineup gives SA problems and the max player Spurs picked up wasn't enough to turn the odds in Spurs favor.

Leonard is really good, but without an offensive player to take some load of Leonard, then Spurs are going to have a tough time against the Rockets.

Yeah, if anyone is a pussy mid range shooter it's LMA.
I dont disagree - but the fact is, SA needed a bucket, KL is "the guy" he throws up a turnaround instead of taking his man to the rack. Matt Barnes doesn't play for the Rockets, so what's the problem?

LMA went to work right away when he was Jones on him & scored but Pop didn't got to that matchup. D-Mo fronted LMA & Dwight sagged off Tim to sandwich LMA, the issue was Tim's inability to hit midrange shot which goes back to the day's work of Yao. Morey's analytical department must be the only one that has figured out Tim is a mediocre mid range shooter, tbh.

They were giving the open mid-range shot to Tim. After a couple of misses Tim made the rest of his shot at the basket. Think he shot better than most.

Tim made one outside shot in the 2nd half but then just went to work inside in the 4th quarter w/ LMA hanging around on the perimeter. Otherwise he was bricking or swinging the ball, it became an issue when D-Mo fronted LMA & Dwight prevented the high low pass by camping in the paint as that also meant Porker wasn't going to venture into the paint.

Do you think maybe Td LMA should not be closing games together???
I remember the Celtics game, the Spurs close out with LMA on the bench. It was Tim/Diaw if I remember correctly. Diaw had a terrific game against Boston.

Definitely crunch time execution has been an issue if Pop has wavered between the combo of big s he wants to use, as well as whether he should stick with Manu or go to Green.

    4. Duncan waiting too long to get aggressive when it was clear the team needed him to have one of his big games.
Tim's played has dropped off lately and he's looked old but seriously? He's 40. It's a fcking shame that we'd ever need him to have 'one of his big games' to win.

99.9% of the other players throughout history his age were getting like 5 mins per game. We should never have to rely on someone that old to win games for us. And he still scored like 8 straight for us in the last 15 minutes.
