Buss is rumored to offer Rose (who may have worn his welcome in Chicago) if the Lakers doesn't land Mega Star Kevin Durant.
Rose would add some box office attraction to the Lakers (Per TWC agreement) playing alongside future All-Star D'Angelo Russell and possibly 1st overall pick Ben Simmons. The Lakers would most likey give up Jordan Clarkson, Lou Williams and Nick Young to make salaries work.
As for the Bulls, it's time for them to move past the Derrick Rose era and start over. They have a new coach in Fred Hoidberg, a budding star in Jimmy Butler, and a great defensive system. The Bulls actually have played better without Rose the past few seasons and they just need a few more pieces to be a serious contender. Lou Williams would be a great pick up for the Bulls and maybe they can get a pick out of the trade as well.
Lakers are also prepared to offer Whiteside max money if Hibbert doesn't show any type of progess.

I'm not saying that D'Bust can't play the 2...or that he will automatically fail if he tries. (Although, I wouldn't bet money on him succeeding at SG either) What I'm saying is that you don't spend the #2 pick on a PG...."the best PG on the board" or "the best PG college has to offer" and ask him to switch positions his 2nd year. And especially at the expense of getting D. Rose....a guy who the first thing you think about is "He can't stay healthy".
Decisions like that are why the Lakers are 15th in the West.

He isn't going to be playing against Big 10 compe ion anymore.
Like I said earlier....it's possible to make the switch. I just think it's a bad decision to ask him to switch during his 2nd year and bring in D. Rose thus moving D'Bust to the 2. Stick with the kid at PG....and pass on Rose. That's just my opinion....and it could very well be the wrong one.
It's working just fine, we're locking up Ben Simmons + a tons of cap space in 2016.
