Rookie to rookie comparison is obviously different. I was comparing him to what Splitter became ... both did enter league in mid/late-20s.

Boban's D is improved, but long way to go. Offensively he's a beast that should be unleashed against second units.

Too bad this still wasn't the grit-and-grind era, it would be GG NBA with the size and skill the Spurs have across the board on the frontline. Love Boban, but his minutes will be specialized per the matchup. Unfortunately, he'll probably be useless against Golden State, OKC and the Clippers. They'll switch him to death.

Boban has more upside than Splitter because he can shoot from outside and finish in the paint. He's taller, more athletic and moves better without the ball I think. Tiago is craftier, sneaky under the rim and good at boxing out and defending the PnR.
