It was New Jersey, not Charlotte that got the short end of the stick IIRC.
Jordan mentioned how the Hornets drafted him so they have a connection because of that. What he forgot to mention was Kobe forced his way out of Charlotte because he knew he couldn't win there as the man.

It's Dell...
In all honesty....I've never seen Kobe blush so much during or after MJ's statements... ...it clearly shows who's opinion he respects....that looked like it meant a lot to him tbh...MJ hasn't done that for anyone else....
....but, the "big brother-little brother" reference is insulting, Kool. He'd bristled for years with Daddy over that sort of comparison.
"I've always been a fan and I've always enjoyed watching you"

Maybe so, but the trade was made because Kobe forced himself out. He knew he wasn't good enough to build the Hornets into a contender.
I thought Kobe forced himself out of Charlotte because he wanted to play in a bigger market.
It's not insulting coming from MJ but it is from Shaq...don't forget Shaq tried to slap Kobe once and Kobe in turn threw a punch at Shaq....so the contention was there and Kobe knew it was insincere...
Agree 100%
That is different Cully. People argued he couldnt win without Shaq ...he had to deal with Shaq as the team leader even when Shaq stopped working hard. Being 2nd best or lil brother at SG to a guy who worked as hard as Jordan is no insult.
Hey face don't forget that MJ called Kwame Brown a and I quote : you a flaming got."![]()
So I don't want to hear it..MJ might say nice things about Tammy in public but we know what MJ is capable of...![]()
Of course the got wants a man to blow him
Then, at least it wasn't necessary.
Even though I read it before.....reading this whole exchange again was Brutal..I had to look away as I read it...
http://espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=1648431BRYANT: He is not my quote unquote "big brother."
Even on first blush to the totally ignorant the terms are questionable if not alarming. Jordan should not have said that EVEN IF the relationship is agreeably so. That wasn't for Kobe Bryant. That was for "us."
I agree...it was for us...and MJ is as alpha as they come but its not like Kobe was better than MJ...therefore MJ would never put anyone on the pedestal with him...I get that....we can all pretty much agree to that..however I am glad MJ did it...it serves as a reminder to the would be Kobe pretenders such as the two Bronze medal winners in Lebronze and Tammy that Kobe was the only second coming...
I liken MJ and Kobe's relationship to a King and his Son heir to the throne....![]()

Kobe took over the Lakers in 2004. They became 1st round fodder / missing playoffs.
Kobe makes it clear the Lakers are his team in 2013. Lakers establishing franchise worse records thereafter years since.
You offering?
MJ enjoys watching Kobe post 33yrs oldI know they said the was cold blooded but damn, I don't wish Kobe's play right now on my worst enemy smfh
Just another thing to add on the list of Kobe's accomplishments
Jordan's eye for talent. Owner of the Charlotte Bobcats, and the same guy who drafted Adam Morrison, Sean May, Cody Zeller, Frank Kaminski, MKG lol, Jeffery Taylor, traded Tobias Harris in the draft, overpaid Ben Gordon and Gerald Wallace, and cut Boris Diaw who later went on to play a huge role in a championship team
Has to be on top of Kobe's accomplishments![]()
i dont swing that way
ask kool
Playing hard to get eh? I'll make a woman of you yet.
Kobe fell short of MJ in every conceivable way. That's why Jordan will always make the argument about him vs. Kobe and not him vs. Bird, Kareem, Magic, LBJ, Russell, etc.
