I'm not ridiculing them for putting in effort. I'm merely pointing out the fact that, despite playing at peak capacity, they were only able to win by 4 points despite playing at home against a Spurs teams that played one of its worst games of the season. That doesn't bode well for them in a potential 7-game series against us.

It is a banner win for them tbqh. They started off slow, fired their coach and have been building momentum ever since. They needed a big win against a contender as a bellwether. Yes, the Spurs the bed and let them have that game in the fourth, but they should celebrate. They should savor it, because it won't last.

My friend was genuinely trying to convince me that they were contenders now that they got rid of McHale. I told him that we played like and that he shouldn't take anything from that win, but he insisted that it was the start of something special for the rockets.

"Trying" isn't cool if you only do it once in a while. Houston has pretty much showed why they are not contenders: lack of effort.

It was something special, another 3 game losing streak for the Rockets. They played their best and barely beat a Spurs team that you can tell were still recovering from their Christmas celebrations.

There are only a few teams the Spurs play playoff caliber BB early in the season against. That would be OKC, LAC, and now GSW.

It's getting ugly here in H-town. I don't watch the games but listen to the local talk radio. Bickerstaff has been a disaster so far from his poor management of the game last night (blowing the 19 point lead), to partying at D12's birthday, to calling out guys in the media and then nothing translating on the court. Harden getting most of the blame but they have no accountability right now...look for them to trade some guys out or release some very soon...
