He isn't ready to start. He is still unsure of himself on offense and defense. With that said..... His future looks brighter.
Any response to this great thoughtful analysis?
Do ppl still believe in the roof fairy?
at least he's not sponsoring a shooting clinic.
lol roof fairy
I put a shingle under my pillow this Christmas and when I woke up there were 20 mexicans replacing my roof!
Needs to be in gym practicing
I'm sure you can relate being that both of you are as dumb as a bag of rocks.
They take very different shots. Danny shoots in volume and from the wings and the top, Simms only the corner 3 and he's taken too few. Not quite the same at all.
I'm looking to see just what impact Simmons will have against the Warriors defensively if he gets enough minutes. Spurs still need that 3rd reliable perimeter defenser against the upper tier teams.
So what? Greens putrid shooting has no excuse tbh. Most are wide open bricks
I cannot speak for SAGirl, but I think her point is that, based on what we have seen in SL, D-league and 1/3 of the regular season, we have no reason to expect Simmons to shoot better than Danny from Danny's spots. 3-point shooting is not the strength of Simmons' game. Nor is defense at this point. So we would miss Danny's D, too. IMHO, our best bet is two-fold: 1) Pop drops his experiment with Danny's putting the ball on the floor and goes back to using him at what he is best at - spot-up 3s, and 2) Danny reverts to form in his shooting.
Simmons seems too raw and new to the system to start for a team that aspires to win it all. I love the guy, and I hope his development continues in its current, promising trajectory. But our realistic hope for Simmons is to blossom next season. Perhaps then he can realistically compete with Danny. Frankly, I expect him to become the Manu-type spark off the bench as our sixth man. That role might better suit him than starting.
Agree with what you state and it is what I meant. Also agree that his current game is better in the bench bc the majority of his baskets come in transition and the second unit likes to run and gun to begin with.
His passing would be welcome and help both units but it is the kind of shots that he takes and the nature of his game which makes him a better fit in the bench.
Danny is shooting 30% from Dannys spots tbqh
You're saying that the reason danny is shooting the worst on sa is because he hasn't shot the ball enough?
He sucks, we need O too is not just ¨oh but his defense is just ultra-elite¨ because it isnt, his D is mediocre.
Nah. Just saying that just bc Simmons currently has a better 3 pt %, It doesn't mean he would be shooting better than Danny if he took the shots Danny takes.
Never change hater,never change...
OP is one of the best posters on this site despite the unpopularity.
RT you and a few others here need to be on a different forum, one for D-league trolls. If you ever have a good showing you might get called up so stay ready.
I had Danny's back all the time...
