Translation: Play like a real and not a sand or a white boy.... Kobe was also subtly implying that real s know how to beat that pussy up..I read between those lines....

    Gonna miss Kobe....

Just ahead of the game against the Phoenix Suns, Kobe Bryant reportedly told LA Lakers teammate Jordan Clarkson to “stop playing like a light-skinned dude.”

The controversial comment seemed to motivate Clarkson, though, and he went on to perform a slam dunk during the game. The Lakers won in a shocking game that ended with a 20-point lead.

Afterward, Clarkson admitted what Bryant had told him to reporters. “All I remember was Kobe telling me that I’ve been going to the hole like a light-skinned dude. So I’ve got to start doing it like a dark-skinned [dude]. So when I seen the lane opened up, that’s all I remember.”

dark skinned players are usually more aggressive ... but
in the NBA the best all time recent dunkers: Blake, vince and LAvine are all light skinned duded lighter than Kobe who is not dark ...

Back in the day though it was Nique and MJ both dark dudes ...

Yeah he just needs one more year and more ball control and little more work on his J and he will be a force...I would trade Randle before I trade Clarkson..Clarkson is the real deal and the fact he's from San Antonio is ing amazing to me...and perplexing tbh

As long as its between ballers no issue...

Here is more media angst over it...

It’s interesting that Bryant would toss such a racially charged statement at a young player considering his childhood was spent in Europe and he never quite fit in with his peers when he returned to the States. Nevertheless, it happened, and Kobe’s words reinforced a very potent notion in basketball circles – dark guys play the game harder and light-skinned guys are soft.

    More media angst

What does it really mean to go to the hole like a light-skinned dude? The NBA is a league dominated by black men. It’s a league that has benefitted greatly from the influence of hip-hop and black culture. Basketball is a black sport and is better off for it. And yet, the divide between the light and the dark persists in the league and in the wider culture.

Kobe means beat that pussy up like a real

No biggie..he also said the same to Gasol....but in a slightly different way....

according to Kevin Ding at the Orange County Register.

“Even when he was in Memphis and he was the go-to guy, he was always very nice,” Bryant said of Gasol. “Very white swan. I need him to be black swan. Be an (expletive) sometimes.”
