Kawhi needs to work on his playmaking abilities before I can call him the best player in the world. He's close though. Only a few more players who are as impactful as Kawhi on both sides of the ball.
Name one better on both sides.

Agreed. This summer is tough to be huge for him, development wise. I wonder how much all the injuries his first 3 or 4 summers impacted his development.

Curry is definitely #1 at the moment and LeBron/KD have solid arguments as well, but outside of those 3 I'd take Kawhi over anyone.

Eh, Curry has come back down to Earth lately (though it might be the injury). Lebron hasn't really stopped being #1.

I think it says a lot that Curry "coming back down to Earth" is him scoring putting up 23 and 7 on a 68 TS% while dealing with an injury.

As for LeBron, it really depends on whether his jumper is there or not. Last postseason + first 30 games of this season he was absolutely awful from outside of the paint, and when he has no jumper, he's not the best player in the world. But he seems to be shooting better lately, so we'll see. I won't say that he's not close to Curry, but I definitely think Curry has been better the past season and a half.

FWIW, I should specify that if we're just looking at what people have done this season, Kawhi could be argued over anyone besides Curry. But going forward I don't expect him to continue shooting as well as he has, and that's why I say guys like LeBron/KD might be better...I'd love to be proven wrong though.

There are many things that mainstream american media does not accept......

During his peak, Sabonis was the best player in the world, not recognized

Allan Caidic might have been the best shooter in the world, not recognized

Oscar Schmidt might have been the best player in the world, not recognized

During the last le run of LA, Pau Gasol was the best player in the world, not recognized

mainstream american media, run by the ing illuminati, is an idiot's world!

LeBron I can see, but Durant doesn't really play defense. LeBron impacts the game in more ways than Durant (or Curry for that matter). LeBron's defense and rebounding put him ahead of both Curry and Durant.

I will take Beal & Ariza over Kawhi, a nice 2 over 1 deal that the OP have proposed in this forum. It's in record, can't be wrong, only vanilla fans disagree with it.

Apa claims he was a Kawhi fan from the beginning, yet he is nowhere to be found in the Kawhi draft thread. Same thing with the Church of Kawhi Leonard.

Where were you at that day Joshua? To busy lusting after your aunt to give us hard hitting basketball takes?

What are you talking about? This has nothing to do with praising Kawhi. Anybody who is a Spurs fan should be a fan of Kawhi and appreciate what he is doing for our team. The barrage of negative comments has nothing to do with it and a blanket comment calling all "Spursfan" a hypocrites is just foolish.

    That's a good reason

Two years ago he was the first to say Kawhi was #top 10, then #top 5, and now #1, you can see the progression...
