our OppPPG is up to 89.7... D-Rating up to 93.6 ... both still best in the NBA by pretty good margin, but we're not passing the eye test and definitely not clutch on defense. By contrast, our oppPPG was 89.3 (2nd best behind Detroit) in 2004-05, and our D-Rating was 97.2 in 2004-05 (good for #1 in the NBA that year; Detroit was 3rd).
So we're actually getting more stops PER POSSESSION this year than in 2005 and it's not even THAT close. But we're not passing the eye test this year while we looked dominant that year. I wonder why?

GS on defense this year has been largely underwhelming, but they're nigh impossible to stop on the other end so it's a moot point so far.
Isn't this the best start in franchise history?
