Excellent. Overcoming adversity on the road is something a championship team has to do. This was good practice for that.
Was West in street clothes tonight?
I don't remember seeing him at all. Something might have come up for him last minute. I don't think he was even dressed. Saw only Bonner in street clothes.

The team missed him. All our bench points from Manu and Boris except that Patty shot.

Our guys were worn out in the 4th, but Pop rode 'em hard. He really shortened his bench too much, especially since Simmons did come in and really energize the team in the first half. No minutes in the second half is just weird. Should have gotten some time when we had our 19-point lead.
I expect Boban and Simmons (Anderson too if he was getting these chances and he did earlier in the season) to be in a very short leash. Simmons brought energy when he played but he was also fouling too much and in general he was there to give Kawhi a breather. Didn't need to do too much but be solid on D, and hit his shots if he was open but him fouling guys on non shooting fouls gets the team in the penalty early. He will have to clean that up, outstanding block on Baynes notwithstanding. His fouling too much is a problem.

He's getting all this experience, but has to play hereunder control when he's putting pressure on guys.

Spurs win another one, and pretty comfortably. Not bad when a lot thought it would be a loss and Kawhi struggled. Good games by Parker, LMA and Timmy.

Indeed, Simmons fouls too much. Some poor judgment, some poor movement. That's why he should have been seeing a little more time in the last 3 weeks or so against mediocre compe ion. We need him. The playoffs are obviously not B2B, but this was an example of our Achilles heel come playoff time. We cannot expect to make a championship run relying on our current top 8 guys. Too many of them are too old to endure that kind of grind. Simmons, Anderson and Boban all need to get the minutes now to work through their various challenges in order to be more serviceable in the playoffs.

Man this was probably Tim and Manu's last time here right? There were tons of Spurs fans in attendance to show love especially where I was behind the bench. There was a group over behind the basket that had a sign saying they came all the way from Toronto to see the Big 3

I agree with you but in fact we have blown so many teams that they have all played more than we thought, specially considering everyone is healthy and Manu hasn't sat many games. We have actually been remarkably healthy and these guys playing has probably helped on that, on top of allowing guys to be fresh.

The problem is that the way I see what Pop is doing, he won't play Boban and if he does, that's 4 minutes in close games and whoever of the wings he chose for the situation would only play 8 mins in close games. It has been a pattern no matter if it was KA or Simmons. If the game is blown wide open that is different, but when the game is close Pop is sticking to his trusted guys. If Kawhi had shown up this game we would have seen more of the young guys bc the game was almost in garbage time b4 the 4th when Pistons got back in the game.

I believe Simmons has the nod but the fouling is a problem. Kyle has been getting better. But it's beyond compe ion between them, it's probable that Pop won't trust whoever much.

The Cavs have been getting torched by scrubs so I wouldn't be surprised if Simmons is matched up w/ Little Richard.
