There's not enough separation and they haven't played each other.
When they play each other, there's a chance they will try to not show everything they've got.
The Warriors are peaked from the start. The Spurs started adjusting to new key players.
The Spurs also have an incredible record.

It's not a given the Warriors will be champions. Very likely, but they can still have a losing streak or get into the one matchup they cannot beat.

    Let's remember the 06-07 Mavs.
Let's also remember the 66-67 Sixers
    71-72 Lakers
    95-96 Bulls

All 3 had the 36-3 start. Guess how many of those 3 won the le.

Spurs will drop a few more and Warriors will drop a minimum 6 more total including playoffs.

Agreed with the odds. It is established their current odds are high.

What I'm trying to say is that we won't know until the RS ends.
With half the season ahead they can still get into a losing streak. Not to mention injuries.

If they break the Bulls record, they will most likely win the le.
But due to the matchup factor, and also if the Spurs end with a separation of less than say, 6 games, would you be sure they can't lose in a series?

I only watched the Bulls out of those other teams, they were 12 games ahead of the 2nd best team which was the Magic. And they had Jordan, who was almost an automatic game winner.

The Spurs were 9 games behind the Mavs in '07, though the 2 teams could not play in a series.

Keep holding serve at home and win as many on the road as possible... we can't win em all, but hopefully 3 less losses than GSW down the stretch here

I'm shortsighted or just honest with myself? Again, if ifs were fifths...

You guys make no sense. Warriors are on a historic pace but are bound to fall off. On the other hand, the Spurs and their "bug" 3 are on a historic pace but are only going to get better.

Come on, Spock. Who is being illogical?
I don't have a crystal ball (apparently you do), so all I can look at are the current records and the current level of play. Given that, again, I think the Warriors are the favorite at this time. They don't have to win though. You talk like it is a lock the Warriors will win, done deal. How is that at ude when the season is not half over yet and they have not played each other being honest with yourself?

Spurs might stumble in the second half of the season. Warriors might stumble. Both might stumble or maybe neither one. Only time will prove what happens.

How many 34 and 6 teams did not go on to win it all? Your premise is any 36 and 3 team will always win the chip. You really don't see a flaw with that premise when another team is 34 and 6?

Injuries are catching up to Warriors now. I called it tbh when they were so concerned with the record they never rested players

My point is that you delusional fans seem to think that the returning champs that have a record setting record are just going to drop off. Yes, the Spurs are off to a great start as well but they are no match.

If IF they meet up in the WCF it's not Curry, Klay or Green that will hurt them. It's going to be Iggy.

Right. Then after all star break and healing, they will be rested and ready to dominate.

It's not about them "dropping off". They should have a solid 7-8 game lead for the 1-seed by now and they don't. The Spurs sit within striking distance even after that 24-0 start of theirs, and catching them for the 1-seed doesn't mean the Spurs would be a lock for the Finals and that they've run out of gas. The Spurs match up favorably with GSW, as any contributor to this board with half a neuron can tell you, and meeting them in a hypothetical WCF WITH home court advantage over them would be a monstrous achievement considering they and their fans are more hungry for 73+ wins than anything else. If the Spurs had already played the Dubs once or twice and their lead was more than just a few games, nobody would care about them dropping a game here and there. With four games against them still to come and only a 3 game deficit to overcome, I'd say it's not unreasonable to scrutinize not only every loss, but how they lose. Curry's playing through a leg injury and they had him spend 40 minutes trying to salvage the W. That's not smart play for them.

They should have a 7-8 game lead? You do realize that they have only lost 3 games, right? It's hard, damn near impossible to do better than that.

I get it. You see LA's progress and the emergence of Kawhi and it looks good. Reality has to set in at some point though. Spurs need that 3rd and nobody else is reliable. It's a nice dream though.

They didn't have much perspective, as they went virtually the entire season without injury problems last year.

I didn't say they should be undefeated; that lead should have come from a worse start from the Spurs. The Spurs, with their 2014 le roster intact, sat at 23-16 through 39 games last season. Kawhi's health had a lot to do with that, but the Spurs were dropping gimme games left and right. GSW wasn't the only team to race out to a solid lead in the West last season. I'm not saying that this year's team should be measured by that same ceiling, but implementing some big pieces to replace what had been key roster members would usually indicate that the Spurs would have dropped more than just 6 games by now. They're matching their best starts in franchise history and doing so rather emphatically, soft schedule be damned. Golden State has had an equally favorable schedule, and reeled off 24 wins in a row to start the season. Being on a 72+ win pace, in most seasons, would put you light years ahead in the standings. Instead, they've got a 3 game lead with 40 games to go. 67 wins last year was good for an 11 game lead over second place Houston, at a respectable 56 wins. So yeah, something closer to a 7 game lead at 36-3 is about what I'd have expected if the Spurs weren't roaring to one of their best starts ever.

Your condescension is cute, but no, I don't just see Aldridge playing nice with Timmy and think this team is locked for a le run. I see that the Spurs have given these Warriors fits for the last 3 years because the Spurs match up with them really well. I've never said they'd for sure beat GSW in a 7 game series. Maybe they won't. But I've done more than just jerk myself off to Aldridge's stat line, and I don't know what "third" you think the Spurs lack when they've been demonstrating for years that their depth as a top to bottom machine is how they kill you.

I think he was saying that with only 3 losses at the mid-point of the season, it's almost unbelievable that they don't have a bigger lead over the next team (Spurs) than they do. I don't see how you can disagree with that.

And putting an injured Curry on the floor for 40 minutes, to try to salvage a single game? Risking the season for one mid-season W? That tells you something - although I disagree that it was about getting 73 wins this season. It says that the Spurs are all up in their heads, and that they are worried about facing them in the playoffs without HCA. Last season Kerr said that it had been the Spurs they were most worried about, going into the playoffs. This year they're off to a history-making start, and the Spurs are STILL nipping at their heels. You damn betcha they're worried about the Spurs.

There's no way in Pop would have let his franchise player stay on the floor that long, in the exact same situation. He would have taken his chances with the other guys, and lived to fight another day. Not many people understand what stress fracture really is, but the situation with Curry is textbook asking-for-trouble. If they had a 7 game cushion on the Spurs, it probably would have been handled differently.
