LeBron vs Kawhi- Its a great matchup and we know Kawhi can hold his own. But what worries me about the matchup is what do Spurs do if Kawhi gets in foul trouble? Literally have nobody with size to guard LeBron. I feel Kawhi has to match LeBron on minutes and must guard him at all times.

Kyrie Irving- He's the difference maker for Cavs. Their season depends on his health and production. As we've seen he can take over a game and win it by himself. His 3pt shooting is what makes him a difficult matchup up. Spurs must throw different looks at him and makes things harder on him by trapping him at times. Haven't seen the Spurs have success against him in his young career.

Size/Defense- This to me is the biggest reason why they matchup up great with Spurs. They have the size and bodies to match Spurs strength. Cavs IMO are the second best defensive team in league when it matters most. Cavs are a great rebounding team and they put pressure on you to execute and limit teams to one shot a possession.

    Thoughts?

But we have LaMarcus this year. Cavs struggle against that .

We do. But they still have bodies to through at him unlike GS. Aldridge IMO is a nightmare for GS because they don't have the size. Cavs have the size

They don't really have the talent, though. Only their centers can defend post bigs. Whenever Love is in the game, we attack him with whatever big he's guarding.

Disagree. If we have to worry about fouls vs lebron. What do you call about defending kkay/elian gonzales tandem and avoiding fouls??

Besides green and kawhi we have NOBODY TO guard those 2

not really, Thompson is the dangerous offensive rebounder out there.

Manu, Tony, Green, Kawhi can "guard" who you referred to. But you can't put them on LeBron. Kawhi is the only option

Spurs have a counter to GSW small ball...size with offensive production. What's the counter to the Cavs?

Spurs have historically defended Lebron better than any other team, so I'm not all that worried about him. Irving is a concern, but with how Parker has looked defensively this year along with having Green, they should be set. After Lebron and maybe Shumpert I guess, the Cavs don't really have any notable defenders, especially for the Spurs' bigs. They'll be tough, but definitely not the Spurs' toughest match up.

They match up better with the Spurs than the Warriors do, but the Spurs can beat them. I doubt Pop would play Diaw/West together against their frontcourt. We have enough depth in our frontcourt to stay big at all times.

Danny Green still defends point guards better than any other perimeter defenders in the league. Kawhi always steps his game up against the best players. So that's my hope in containing LeBron/Kyrie. Love may be hard to contain, but he won't be able to stop LMA either.

Their bench is awful outside of Thompson. Besides, any team that gives RJ major minutes usually ends in failure.

Point is, love is white and soft like a blown-up Easter Peep. Defensive rebounds are sort of expected if you're tall and in the paint on a regular basis. What sets guys apart is their ability to grab offensive boards.

Still can't hide the fact you brought up offensive rebounding when talking defense...

My point is... Love is their huge weak link on the inside for their defense. You were the one who called him "smart and s [sic] great rebounder". He's like Nick Hayden for the Cowboys, except Hayden doesn't play offense like Love does.

What point are you seriously trying to make? Love is a smart player and is a great rebounder. He doesn't get offensive boards because he's a stretch 4 in their system. And you just compared Hayden to Love???? GTFOH man lmao

lol at not spelling "a" right twice in a row. It's one ing letter bro

Obviously Golden is probably going to be unemployed after this offseason because he is worthless on defense and doesn't play offense. Love is worthless on defense and a big threat on offense, so he keeps his job.

Btw... trade down to #7 and get Jarran Reed with that #34 or #38.

I was talking about guarding them at a decent level. Manu, porker cannot do that at all. Not even close

I think last season, which was a low season for Boris Diaw (he's been much better this season) one of Diaw's best games of the season came against Love in that special game that Lebron TO at the end and cost the Cavs a game in their home floor. Early season 2014-15 game. Diaw scored, dished, and did whatever the heck he wanted. He might have been the best player that particular game, bc neither Kawhi nor Tony had good games. I think Love will struggle against whoever for sure and they will go right at him... as we really PF depth is kind of a strength.

This has always been the case. . . or were we going to trot out Belinelli against Lebron? They are always matched up. Kawhi is young and he can handle it. He's also experienced and doesn't foul often or out of mistakes. If your hope to win a game is to foul out Kawhi, I don't think those are good odds.
