Maybe I was wrong about Lebron because he shoots over 50% against the DPOY. Do people think?
You're wrong about him bc he struggles some against one of the best defensive players in the league? If that's the case what does that say about your thoughts on Kobe who has done way worse against many players. Lebrons bad night (22/7/5 on 53% FG) is still way better than most all Kobe nights (esp with regards to efficiency)
Maybe I was wrong about Lebron because he shoots over 50% against the DPOY. Do people think?
This has nothing to do with Kobe. You have said many times on here that you feel Lebron has surpassed Kobe ... has that changed? If not, if you are going to reply to my post stay on track. I was using Jordan as the bar not Kobe. Normally I hate jordan lovers who do that but that is where JAmes should be striving to reach. did you even watch the game? It has nothing to do with %'s. For Kiwi that was a great game (their numbers were close) but for James that was mediocre that is how GREAT he is at times ...but last nigh I saw him get passive as that game slipped away. Maybe it was cramps, dehydration roid withdrawal IDK, whatever ...because I have seen the excuses /explanations all over the place today. I even accept he just may be worn down from all the consecutive Finals trips ...but last night was a chance to do to Kiwi what he did to Durant in the Finals ...heck what he sorta did in last year's finals show everyone he was still the best player in the world ...but I did not see that. For Lebron the bar is insanely high. He is the GOAT SF and in GOAT overall conversations. For him to surpass MJ he needs to on or at least ... clearly outplay Kiwi in games like last night. He did not.
Or maybe I expect or want more from James than you do Deeps ... I know you love that dude but on nights like last night it shows why he cant catch MJ. And it's sad because I actually want him to.
Bump for Deeps ...
You do realize that when defended by Kiwi as the primary defender he shot like ass right?
If you are going to use stat, use them right ...
After James’ big first half, Leonard held the four-time MVP to eight points in the second. James hit 6-of-10 over the first two quarters, with six of those attempts coming from inside the paint from an average distance of 9.1 feet. James started the second half 1-of-5 from the field, with no shots from the paint as the average distance of his attempts increased to 19.4 feet, according to research from ESPN Stats & Information.
James finished the second half 3-of-7, taking just three shots in the third quarter for two points. Leonard served as the final defender on James on 72 percent of Cleveland’s half-court possessions, and forced James to pass the ball on 73 percent of his offensive touches. When guarded by any other Spur, James dished the ball on just 32 percent of his touches.
James produced a usage percentage (a possession ending in a shot attempt, foul drawn or turnover) of 10 percent when guarded by Leonard in Cleveland’s half-court offense. When guarded by other Spurs, James’s usage percentage increased to 62 percent.
BTw those numbers include a garbage layup with less than 8 seconds left ... but whatever.
It's a stupid bar to set bc Kobe is your star you look at points. If Lebron would have dropped 40 on 38% FG you would have lauded him. It's dumb to me. Lebron is not the GOAT, but if your only point was him not destroying DPOY Kawhi to the tune of 40 points disappoints you? Ok.
Didnt need 40. I said 30 would be fine. But even those numbers are arbitrary. 28 points and besting Kiwi in the head2head along with a win or a near defeat would have been fine. again if you watch just that game from start to finish you cant say Lebron was clearly head and shoulders better than Kiwi. It wasnt just points it's about exerting your will on a game. If anything Tony in the first half, and Kiwi's defense in the 2nd were the most dominating forces in last night's game. Which shouldn't be the case when the best player in the world is in that same game ...
Well the Spurs are an amazing team on pace to win 70'games & undefeated at home. The game was close most of the way and he had good numbers. No one is going to beast SA all the time & saying you misjudged him as the GOAT (he's not, but he's close) because of that is silly to me.
And yes, Kawhi is in his prime and becoming a top 3-5 player while Bron is declining some & still a top 3 player. He's not that much better than Kawhi right now, no one is.
I was wrong on this one. I still don't see the Spurs beating the Cavs in a best of 7 series though. At least not the way they played last night.
It's fun to imagine that happening but I think the Spurs will have to settle for getting to the WCF.
Lebron will have to be happy as the Buffalo Bills of the 90s
Silly to you ...why do you care about how i judge Goat players? Kiwi deserves all the praise he gets and more and James is an all time great. But nothing wrong with me wanting a Jordan over Drexler level spanking from a GOAT level player over his young rival. Didnt happen in 14 Finals and it didnt happen last night or last season either. That is a problem for me . Heck even prime Timmy took a dump on KG and Dirk THAT is what i am expecting. Outplaying Durant in the Finals was great but maybe those days are done. And if so he wont ever be as close to Jordan or pass him. Which his talent suggests he should ot could
If you want to blame someone on the Cavaliers for the loss last night, blame Kyrie and his "defense" on Tony Parker. But blaming anyone for losing a tough game on the road to a great team is kind of stupid anyway.
This is my point. I find it hilarious how people look to tear Lebron down. He's done far more great than most & even his bad efforts are still elite. Expecting someone to dominate every single game and outplay every great player/team is ludicrous.
If Kobe fans nit-picked Kobe like they do Lebron then none of them would argue Kobe in the top 10. Lebron is a top 5 player ever Imo but of course he has flaws. If saying his flaws bother you because you were really pulling for him to be GOAT (obvious lie from Laker fans) - ok I guess. Seems ridiculous though.
We all know the truth behind Laker fan & Bron though. At first it was Brons threat to Kobe. Now that it's no longer a question or debate there (that was early Bron) it's about LA being a joke & SA being great. Bron is one of the few standing in the way of Laker fans disdain of Spur fan (even on a Spurs board which is ironic) and it looks like he might not be enough. So Laker fan is "disappointed" in Lebron.
No blame here. If you read the post that deeps quoted it wasnt about that game... it was about James taking the Kiwi challenge personal and him re-establishing his dominance. James had a fine game by almost any good players standards a mediocre one for him ...
Just in December i created a specific thread to praise LeBron for the way he dominated the Celts on the road. Boston aint the Spurs but Crowder and Smart are good defenders and they are well coached. LeBron turned a 10 pt deficit around with as dominant stretch of 20 mins i had seen because he did it inside, outside on d and with his superb passing.
Wanted that last night did not get it I was disappointed.
You or Deeps dont agree as much as I like you both idgaf.

Why bring it back to Kobe? not a lie for me ...i never worshipped at the Jordan altar and even hated him as a kid. I even rooted for Jazz over Bulls because i resented Jordan for surpassing myg child hero Magic and didnt want him to get 6. Im a grown man now dont care about that as much ...
Lol deeps writes all this negative about Kobe but when someone says they are disappointed in LeBrob last night and he might not be the GOAT it warrants a legal defense and more deflection to Kobe?
Was LeBron great last night Deeps?
Tait, no concern for Cavs fans that LeBrin cant dominate this matchup if they meet in June? He hasnt done so since early in the 2014 Finals ...
Deeps didnt you tell me in one of your Randle is a bust posts that expectations matter? Shouldnt a close to Goat player have high expectations?
The guy is amazing he has made the Finals every year since 2011. He made it once before that. He has been the greatest talent in the game since Shaq.
But to elevate him to Jordan damn right im gonna nitpick. If that makes you want to gjoafter Kobe go ahead. He already failed at catchng MJ James still has or had chance ...
Kool ethered for life.![]()
How many threads did that got start today? You know he's eyeball deep in some high end pussy right now, not giving a about this forum. Probably looking at stacks of cash sitting on his bed at the same time a couple top tier white s go to work on him. He's living the life.
Let's go get it! Meanwhile, Kiwi took his cookie.

Woo hoo!
Rock out with your out!
^Everything was goin' peaches in the 1st quarter. Then you two-pieced 'em & that was that.
"Shouldn't a close to great player have high expectations"... WTF?
Someone clearly has the cart before the horse.
Luva has remained MIA, as well.
^^^I recall 17 June 2010 this place was a gd ghost town for SF. Nobody came. You stayed upstairs and for the most part you were left alone. When a couple LFs went up there Kori blocked 'em.
That was fine. I understood. I didn't expect you to embrace it. Your scarcity was respected.
You've learned nothing.
