Don't know who the middle guy is, but the other two are easily the most overrated players in each respective sport of the last 20 years. So their "I'm retiring later so come glorify me all season" doesn't surprise me.

I don't remember much about how he was playing. Just that he announced it would be his last year and had a pretty big farewell sendoff. Some city presented him a motorcycle at the game iirc.

But he won a championship and was pivotal that year. And even Kareem, he helped lead the Lakers to the NBA Championship and win two championships the two previous years.

Its not like these guys were shooting 30%+ and 20% from 3P land and their teams were bottom feeders in the conference. Or like Nash who played like 10-15 games the season he said he was going to retire. He literally did retire at the start of that season. Just collecting that 10mil pay check.
