The Mavs game is a trap game
Can't wait to see the Spurs demoralize those mental midgets
Hopefully they drop another one of their next 3. Still early in the season though. With how tough our schedule gets towards the end of the season, would be nice if they racked up some more losses soon.
I hate the Warriors as much as the next guy. But come the on. It's January, will change.
Yea not going to overreact to one loss by GSW. Too early in the season and they're still a great team.
Notorious SVG
Easily the best coach in the NBA without a ring...Do people forget the dumpster fire that place was in Dumars last years..If they can shore up that bench and get Drummond to improve his Ft shooting, they will be among East elite in near future..
It ISN'T a "one game" sample, have you looked at how they have been on a steep decline since the beginning of December?![]()
Just saying it's too early to get up for it. Only halfway through the season. Hopefully they continue to decline though. We'll see.
If there is such a thing as "peaking too early" that EXACTLY what they have done. There were winning game they had no business winning b/c they had 5 guys shooting 40%+ from 3 now that everyone has regressed to the mean they have to actually play defense & execute. It's not like they are losing games playing their game but rather losing games dictated by the opposition which is a MAJOR issue even if they pull out a win.
The same thing happened to them in last years playoff but they lucked out b/c their opponents weren't the cream of the crop but rather teams that field out flawed players such as Tony Allen, Josh Smith & Delly to play 30+ minutes.![]()
Ehh considering all the hype they were getting during their streak, and the media making them out to be unstoppable. To be 2 games behind them is sort of a big deal even if it's just January.
WE, THE SPURS, ARE THE REAL PERENNIAL WARRIORS OF THE NBA!
Perennialismmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm !!!!!!!!!!
The fact that they went god mode on the league for a couple of months and they still only have a 2 game lead speaks volumes about the Spurs. If in early April you told me the Spurs had closed within 2 games, I'd have been impressed. But it's January and the Ws are looking increasingly mortal.
And the the difference between the Spurs and Warriors was pointed out with that Klay Thompson tweet. They're thinking about the Spurs. The Spurs, for all anyone knows, aren't thinking about them.
Well said
Anyone remember that pic that used to be posted here like five or so years ago that said "team in rear view mirror may appear closer than they are" with our team in the mirror? I wish I could find it;it should also be updated.![]()
It's the Thompson tweet and the Kerr quote from last year about being grateful that they avoided the Spurs or whatever. They're still clearly scared of the Spurs, and that's going to affect the overwhelming confidence they need to shoot lights out. They know SA was never fooled by their new-found dominance. So I think the fact that they are looking at losing HCA in a potential match-up with SA is scaring the out of them. It probably wouldn't be that long of a series (Warriors would probably take Game Four at Oracle and that's it) if that's the case.
Seriously... Hats off to both the Spurs and the Warriors. 6 and 4 losses at this point of the season is incredible regardless of the strength of schedules. Just about any other year we'd be talking about how the number 1 seed is locked up for one of them. I think it's great to have both of them there to push each other.
Sure the Warriors have slipped a little, but here's to wishing good health for both teams for the rest of the year, and hopefully an eventual meeting, in what would be an epic Western Conference Finals.

The seed for #1 seed is huge. Even more considering HCA will probably decide most series between top teams.
It's good too that the Spurs have been able to rest due to all the blow outs. Can only hope it works for durability and gives them an advantage.
How is this year Spurs record compared to the 2010-11 one ? I can't fathom a Spurs team with guys like Bonner, Blair, and Jefferson playing heavy minutes doing so well early on. Catching many teams off guard out of their corporate knowledge & the system ? Manu Ginobili in god mode ?
Hope you're safe over there in Indonesia, buddy
Spursfan is an insecure crwature
Think about this: in the history of the NBA, there has only been one team to win 70+ games. There is a legitimate chance for two teams to do it this year.
But both won't and you know it.
