Simmons is better suited coming off the bench b/c he's an energy guy & you don't want the opposing players to catch fire in the 1st quarter or get in the penalty in the first 6 minutes b/c Simmons is going to get whistled if he breathes on all-star type players.

At this point I am all for it - even if only for a few games to shake up Danny. And I think Danny fits fine with the bench, with Manu, Patty and Boris to handle ball handling/playmaking and get Danny looks. My concern has always been diluting the three-point shooting of the first unit. But if Simmons can provide that legitimate threat, then let's switch things up.

Oh I totally agree on that. I also think Danny is just better with the SL. He's a low usage floor spacer who hustles on D and is careful with not fouling, plus experienced and with good instincts for getting deflections/steals + perimeter D. I don't like him in the bench bc he doesn't add much to them if he's not hitting his shots, and he's not a gifted passer for the motion offense that the bench likes. Plus, as you say, Simmons adds a lot to the bench.
