You guys got your darkie Oscars back when Halle ed Billy Bob for hers and Denzel did Training Day. That doesn't mean you are going to keep getting affirmative actioned in every few years. The white actors/actresses were just better. Nothing more, nothing less.
You cannot win an Oscar for roles that are simply not there
I thought Elba did good, more deserving than Damon even though the Martian was a far better movie.
Bryan Cranston is a joke nomination too.
The Martian was nominated for Best Picture? I thought it was a good movie, with good acting and great cinematography, but the story wasn't that captivating imo. Damon's a good actor, but he wasn't a good fit in the role IMO. He doesn't have the charisma of say a Tom Hanks in Cast Away, where he can carry a scene talking to himself.
Bridge of Spies was another movie I saw, and while good, I thought it was too boring. It's a quality Spielberg movie, the acting was great, directing & photography great, but there wasn't a whole lot of character development in it other than Hanks. He basically carried the whole movie by himself. The story was good, and probably historically accurate. It'll appeal to the historians out there. But aside from Hanks, and to a certain degree, the Russian spy, there was nothing Oscar-worthy about it.
I havent seen The Revenant yet, but two other movies I saw this past year were Steve Jobs (or is it just called "Jobs"?) & Mad Max: Fury Road. I thought both were extremely good and deserve to be up there.
Damon did fine in the martian. i thought he fit the role well.

I'm disappointed there is no Asians,Indians,Mexicans that have been nominated for the Oscars. For those who don't know I'm being sarcastic.
No black people??!! Well it must be cause everyone's racist.... ers need to shut up and act better. I watched all 4 of those movies and no one really has an oscar worthy performance. The only way I'd put one in is switching Cranston with Elba and that's it. Either way none of those two would win it... scratch that, I'd nominate Sam L Jackson as the only black guy. For me he was way better than any of those 4.
