Didn't expect a black president, honestly. That came out of nowhere. I thought more would happen with space by now. And I assumed those hydrogen cars would have been a thing, since they were on TV a decade ago.

Sure, but even that wasn't a consideration in my mind until I was 17. Movies, shows and books having black presidents was just something they did to seem progressive, like how John Scalzi has to have a gay character in every one of his books. To go from "This country would never elect a black man," to them literally electing the first black man who wasn't radical was shocking.
I expected virtual reality to be more of a thing by now. Like Total Recall type stuff. Especially for video games.
Cars running on something other than fossil fuels...hydrogen.....pressurized air.....electric........nuclear.....anything but fossil fuels
