Seriously - the Pacers won 2 quarters and tied another. The Warriors only won the 1Q. (Isn't that a moral loss?) If they play like that against the Spurs, they'll lose.

they don't have a DRtg to protect, they do have an ORtg to protect though

Speights for three. The icing on the cake.
They STILL got outscored by the Pacers after the 1st quarter (Monta picked up 3 quick fouls)

I have a horrible feeling the Warriors are going to drop another Cleveland Steamer on us. Hope not.
Wouldn't surprise me. If that were to happen, I'd rather it be with the big 3 and one of the young 2 resting.

Not to mention Paul George playing like shyt, Monta being in early foul trouble, George Hill being out & the Worriers feasting on the glass against an undersized frontline.

It's in Oracle. Don't think the Spurs have the personnel to make comebacks. We are built to get leads, advance leads, and grind out close and medium-close games. We're not built to come back from say, 13, 15, 17 down. All the times we've been tested in such scenarios on the road thus far this season, we've lost.

Kobe is an asshole, but I still prefer him over some of today's pussy s like Kevin Dur got and Struggle Westbrick that play for the foul first instead of trying to make legit plays.

He he has been playing better but in the playoffs you aren't gonna get a lot of good looks and you have to take them and take them with confidence when you do. That play was pretty disappointing for me because he has showed a bit of promise lately.
I agree with you, but young players will struggle sometimes specially when they play you everything from the 1-5, and you don't have a group of guys you play with that know your spots and like that. Ray playing threw the whole unit off, bc they gave Ray the point and he wasn't running sets, and didn't put guys in spots to get a shot. When he was at the point, Kyle kept having to bail out possessions that were going nowhere. I would not put it on Ray as much either, as really... he hasn't played the point much, but if you had them Simmons/Anderson/Boban with Rasual, Bonner or another vet, as they had been playing in garbage time all the time so far they would have been fine. It was the fact that RAy was running the point inadequately that stagnated and then ppl had to freelance. Simmons saved a posession with a jumpshot of his own, and I think he had to force another shot that was really bad. Just in general the whole group was out of whack and Kyle was forcing stuff, not in his spots either.

Just overall they didn't play well. In my opinion, Ray is the kind of guy who is truly a roleplayer, he will play well off others, but don't give him the ball to call sets and get guys shots bc he won't do it well.

I think in the end they let Kyle run the offense for a couple of possessions bc Ray had struggled, but at that point Kyle had been having a bad game already, bad focus.

Still, it's a learning opportunity for all of them.

Pop's strategy against the Worriers always seem like jumping on them & sustain the pace by calling timeouts even when the Spurs are maintaining the margin.

In that case, wouldn't we be the Worriers, then, by default?

And I'm just saying, if we can't pounce on them early, we're going to struggle to stay in the game in their building. Even if we do pounce early they'll make runs and give us a better battle than the April meeting in SA.

Spurs are in the Worriers head so if it's a close game they are going to unravel just like the Cripples.

Spurs looked awfully "crippled" last April/May in the first round, tbh...

That wasn't the Spurs, it was Tim/Kawhi/Diaw/Patty & 8 scrubs. When Tony was healthy last season (looked spry tonight), he held Curry without a 3 pointer during their first meeting & dropped 28.

Anderson's progress is much spottier than Simmons' tbh. However, both were pretty spotty tonight - Simmons less so, but still not the solid outing I was hoping for in order to build on his recent performances. Rookies.
Yes.... Simmons has also been playing more regularly, is getting more experience, is more athletic, older (playing basketball for a longer period of time and honing his craft a full 4 years longer) and maybe has more talent too.

The point is that this is why vets look like vets, and rookies, and more so young players whose game is still developing, are inconsistent and will struggle.

We all (fans) have to get ready bc young players will struggle at times. You can't expect them to be consistent while they are growing and developing, and Kawhi was spared having to develop and struggle night and night out carrying a team like some guys in the league do bc he had the luxury of a playoff team with HoF players.

These guys are not as talented as Kawhi, but have talent, and will struggle, have up and downs while they try to improve and get better. The garbage time may seem like cookie time to us, but that is the time they are not playing with any HoF player and have to figure their own stuff out. It won't look pretty always, but I will give you this, they have been playing well more than they have been playing bad.

Leonard was pretty awful outside of game 3, Belinelli made a few shots, but yeah our bigs outside Tim the bed and Parker curled up into the fetal position for a good ass ing. Shame we wasted the last superstar-level effort of Duncan's playoff career.
