Yes.... Simmons has also been playing more regularly, is getting more experience, is more athletic, older (playing basketball for a longer period of time and honing his craft a full 4 years longer) and maybe has more talent too.

The point is that this is why vets look like vets, and rookies, and more so young players whose game is still developing, are inconsistent and will struggle.
Simmons is fearless like Clarkson while Fathead is hesitant & looks lost like Randle (sans the rebounding).

I don't get FSSW. I only got League Pass....and they always cut it off as soon as the game is over.

    CliffNotes Please?
Basically a bunch of one word responses to dumb questions for a while and then after yet another inane question he paused and said something like, "Do you guys stay up all night thinking of these questions? Gee whiz I mean come on." And just looked generally annoyed the entire interview and immediately walked off after the last question. Did mention that our guys will be fired up for monday though because "we're playing the best team in the league."

I do think he looked hesitant here. I do not think he's like Randle. Randle is all athleticism and quickness but he lacks skill and he won't hesitate to force up that is not going to go in.

Kyle really didn't want to force up, thus the hesitation, but he wasn't in spots that would help him succeed and to have him one on one with a set defense, its a tough spot unless at least you post him up. He kept wanting to make plays for others, but Pop had him off the ball. It was a bad game for him, but I would not say he's Randle TBH.

Leonard was pretty awful outside of game 3, Belinelli made a few shots, but yeah our bigs outside Tim the bed and Parker curled up into the fetal position for a good ass ing. Shame we wasted the last superstar-level effort of Duncan's playoff career.
Kawhi was getting doubled & he started forcing shots when nobody could make an outside shot (Tim/Tony did the same in 2004 against the Lakers after Gm 2).

L.A. coach Doc Rivers sent a double-team at Leonard almost every time he touched the ball on the block.

It is a strategy borne of respect, meant to get the ball out of Leonard’s large hands. In a way, it played exactly into the Spurs’.

“It’s the whole point of basketball,” forward Tim Duncan said. “You try to get double-teams and mismatches. When you get a player who can draw that, the other team has to rotate and adjust.”

Pop is an asshole, no doubt about it. These guys get paid to be entertainers, not just to put a damn ball through a metal hoop. He's the expert - he could volunteer something for fans who are watching.

There's not anything those guys could ask that he would think is a valid question. He'd give smart-ass answers, even if he was the one who made up the questions.

Good, so no 1st quarter lull.
Kawhi usually comes out firing in marquee match-ups & Tony likes to outduel elite point guards in the 4th quarter. Just need the bench mob to do work in the 2nd quarter & LMA to go to work in the 3rd quarter after feeling out Draymond in the 1st half (ala the Mavs game).

All Tim has to do is control the board but he most likely won't play in the 4th quarter (Diaw/West will get a lot of minutes). Danny is the wildcard so hopefully he can build on tonight's performance.

Tim was by far the best Spur in the Lakers series in '04.

On the other hand, Turkoglu, Rasho, Brown, Horry, even Enrique himself...

Just the regular one word curt answers. 'Its basketball.' Kind of stuff. Got a little nicer in the end when he answered something about the GSW game saying 'the guys would be excited playing the top team.' Pretty much the norm. 'You guys stay up all night thinking of these questions?'

    So basically......75% of Pop's interviews.

He should tone it down. I don't say completely, but sometimes it's too much.
