Brady is the greater overall QB, but his rivalry with Manning would end in a 3-2 loss in the post season and while it's always looked clear that Brady has had the greater overall career, Manning would be riding off into the sunset with that 20-18 victory over the Patriots being part of the highlight reel. You can't convince me Brady isn't praying Cam wins this Sunday to definitively conclude how much better Brady was.
Let's be honest, New England wouldn't have scored 3 points vs. Denver's D if Manning replaced Brady, tbh..
Yeah, Denver's D is a nightmare right now. Hope they figure out a way to shut down Carolina. But the point is it will haunt Brady that the story ends that way IF and its a big if it ends that way
denver's D theoretically matches up against carolina since they have the speed at linebacker to really contain newton's shenanigans. von/ware aren't gna allow cam to just chill in his comfort zone like he has past couple of games
Yes but Their offense matched up horribly against our defense.
Bradys legacy was sealed by Pete Caroll in the SuperFlub.
Just like Brady wouldn't have won those first 2/3 championships without those Patriots defenses. Manning being the one able to count on his defense and kicker for once, is sweet justice.
Manning's 2006 team was carried by the defense, too, IIRC..
Is no coincidence that the first time Manning isn't let down by his defense and/or kicker he wins it all, tbh.
Denver on the road (without that 5000 foot elevation) facing a team that can run the ball is something totally different than facing a Pats team with a non athletic QB with no running game.
Then there's this....
Panthers are plus about 28 in the TO battle, the Broncos about even. This is...HUGE.
Brady will get his wish. And I can't think of anyone who thinks Manning is better than Brady other than Colt/Bronco fans.
I don't care about Manning vs. Brady, but I agree with whoever was arguing(Brazil?) that it's pretty illogical to argue QB vs. QB performance in a single NFL game where they're playing against different defenses..
FWIW, Manning still needed to throw for 350 yds and put 38 pts in the AFC championship game to squeak out a win vs the Patriots, tbh.
I have no problem with that logic either, but if we had to listen for years how Brady was more clutch than Manning and how he dominated Peyton in head to head matchups, we better keep that going now that Manning turned the story around, tbh.
I'm neither, I'm just a very objective person that sees that Manning is better than Brady, but had the missfortune of playing in lesser teams for lesser coaches most of his career.
I've always said Manning = Lebron and Brady = Kobe for that very reason but I mentioned that on LG once and everyone strongly disagreed. Of course there are many differences in their careers when you compare them but the similarities are eerie.
Yep, pretty much. Even in the clutch/choke thing. I'm a Lebron/Manning supporter (not speciffically because I like their styles but because of the undeserved they get due to being thrown into crappy situations) but I can admit that despite not getting any help they still choked here and there.
But still, despite being thrown into ty situations they made something out of it thanks to being all-time greats. I don't know what kind of career Brady (a sixth round pick), would have had if he hadn't being thrown into the perfect situation with a great team and the greatest coach of all-time.

at framing that run as Fivehead merely "not being let down by" his defense.
He threw only 3 touchdowns to 7 interceptions while putting up an anemic 16.3 points per game in the postseason that year. He was dragged kicking and screaming by the defense that yearPERIOD
I think it bothers Brady more over the fact he could have gone back to the bay area and won it in the 49ers building, the same 49ers who he admired during his childhood, especially Joe Montana. He would have passed Joe Montana in Super Bowls, probably in front of Joe Montana........
The are you talking about? The Colts averaged 26.25 pts per game in that postseason.
That's including all the points Vinatieri and the defense put up. I was only talking about the offense's production.
Fivehead chokedPERIOD as usual. The rest of the team just stepped up and carried his ass. As Dale says: "he's a loser in the winners' circle; it happens."
I hear ya, both guys are fantastic, and there really is no need to debate anything.
You ever actually looked at Mannings career? Why not do that, ok little guy?
Dude, Derek Anderson over Newton, hahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No BEASTMODE.....what now, how about 4000 yards passng/101.1 QB rating, NFL records.
You're a funny little man.
