Those switches are always there. Just we get exposed playing ty rim protectors when Tim isn't there.
We've been doing it all season, generally to great effect, but it's pretty obvious it's death against certain teams. Then again, Pop keeps doing it.
I think it's just a tactic to reduce grind and rest players during the regular season, but I wanted to know what everyone else thought?
Those Patty on Lebron, Manu on Lebron, Tony on Dirk switches are cringe-worthy, tbh...

I don't remember the team switching or playing zone all that much this season (everyone has been checking their own man & the big have been sagging on PnRs).![]()
Truth.
The spurs have hardly switched this season tbh. Hes used them religiously against GSW and Cavs though.
Especially with how ty our other bigs are.
Switching killed us in the last play against Wizards early in the season, switching killed us against Warriors and Cavs...the Spurs didn't learn the lesson
Cavs were the first ones to expose it this year with Lebron. Rest of the league is catching up, tbh...
Every team switches when the game clock is off b/c teams run quick hitters.
All the Cavs do is run PnRs, the Worriers didn't even bother running PnRs b/c Curry was cooking Porky on isolation & transition![]()
Exactlygoing thru P&R's are Kiwi's weakness defensively. Dude has stone feet. Hopefully this puts the whole "Lebron stopper" thing to rest
It was very weird, come on Patty on Lebron like if it was a serious matchup, then Manu... why?

P&Rs are 2on2's got. Not his fault he is paired with defensive liabilities from time to time.
But you have to maximize the moves...Just in one play they switched and Danny guarded LeBron, in the rest of the game it was ugly.
It was a headscratcher. Pop threw in the towel in this one. Patty should have been benched. I am not sure if Pop let it go on bc it was part of the plan, a test for someone. I hated seeing it.
Why do you think Pop switches? Kiwi is one of the worst on the team when it comes to running thru screens.
The world saw who the real DPOY of the Spurs is tonight and against the Warriors.
Not really. Since most of LeBron points came from plays on Mills, Manu, and Spurs stupid zone. Tonight, CBS couldn't find a play where LeBron scored one on one on Kawhi to show in the post-game notes/summary.

Pop doesn't want switches. The other guards can't go over screens and the Spurs are forced to switch.
