I would be really shocked if Green or Boris are traded..
I'd be fairly surprised if Patty is traded, but not shocked (I don't remember his contract details, though)
I don't think it will happen, but i would not be shocked anymore if it did especially with Tim knee becoming a factor...Mills is probably the most vulnerable.. i think the Spurs will look for a defensive PG in the market..

Normally i would . But if the front office feels like Duncan might not come back i could see them maybe shopping a couple players around.
This is a ty thread tbh.
The problem is not the players we have. It's this stagnant ass offense. I can't stand the pace or the lack of urgency.
WE need a rim protector and better guards. We could make do with what we have in guards if more time is opened up for Simms/Anderson. If Tim comes back you ride this group into the sunset. There is beauty in the journey and guys want to win but also while keeping their team together. If this team underachieves there could be trades in the summer and the retirement for Timmy/Manu. I think they retire anyways, which makes this particular season one you don't want to ruin in terms of chemistry.
Diaw/Mills are a big part of the bench with Manu. I can't see them traded and Manu remaining upbeat about this season.
Green would be the most vulnerable.
No.
Patty has one year remaining while Diaw's contract is only partially guaranteed with his final year being completely unguaranteed. If anything Pop rolls w/ the crew & ships out Diaw in the summer if he wets the bed during the postseason.![]()
We probably should have kept ter instead of Green, tbh
It's too late in the season to trade a starter like Danny & bring in a new piece w/ LMA/West/Simmons still working out the kinks. George Hill is the only realistic trade option for Danny but even then it's not the same system as 2011 even though he's familiar w/ the Big 3 & Pop.
How many game has ter missed this season?![]()
How about for Richard Jefferson and Iman Shumpert?
I don't know, all I know is he's been buried deep on the bench on that W's team, Millsap and Horford are pretty good and it seems to be more DNP-CD's for ter than injuries.
Danny Green is the expendable piece with the emergence of Jonathon Simmons...
Timmy has a sore knee after the Laker game. He wasn't limping. Wasn't hobbling. Didn't go down. We are not winning a le in January, so they rest him. Second seed is ours to lose and we are not catching Warriors unless Curry goes down. So don't fret over that. Also on topic, Green has proven to be more than useful and we all bedazzled on why this slump has gone on for that much. Also Simmons is not ready for starting minutes.
The team defiantly needs a big point guard. Perhaps target someone like CJ Watson.
Not shocked, but I think it's unlikely.
I don't see it, but green blows. He and Mills are both worse for the team than Simmons. Trade both or at least green
RC should definitely be doing his due diligence on Mills tbh. He's been trash all year, and this is probably as high as his value will ever be again. It's pretty easy to see that when he isn't on fire, he's essentially a short Gary Neal on the floor. I suspect this is why they're experimenting with Simmons defending PGs.
This type of thread has its genesis spawned by a bad game.
Why not after a crushing success?
It is possible to ascertain improvements after wins, not just losses.
Timmy under the basket barking directions on D and not going into panic mode is the prescription imO. We will finish this season with this crew mostly intact barring injuries. The idea is to be at your best during the playoffs. We will finish with the crew we have.
I agree, we have those guards in Simmons and Anderson, but we may need another bigger and quicker guard (maybe Orlando Johnson).
Spurs gutted the end of bench where we don't have an additional young and long build to protect the paint. Aldridge, West and Diaw are not tall and quick enough. Boban is not quick enough. Spurs need some other guy pronto!!!
Spurs need to dump McCallum. I've said it all season, Spurs don't need an additional 6'0" player! Mills and Parker are liabilities enough.
Spurs got major problems protecting the paint. They got beat up by Cavs.
Spurs never do this . So what's the point? they won't mess up continuity and chemistry mid season after a few blowout games. I wish they would get another three point specialist, like Troy Daniels. A rim protector would be great but that's not happening.
Trade Green, Anderson and picks for Rudy Gay
Haven't watched much of Simmons but i have noticed he can get to the rim and finish. I have concerns about his shooting. Green and Mills are the only true sharpshooters on the Spurs. I'd much rather keep Green and hope he breaks out post allstar break nad the playoffs.
i'd be interested to see if Pop trys to shake things up and moved in Simmons or Anderson to the starting lineup and go with a Mills-Manu-Green-Diaw-West bench group.
Anderson needs to get some minutes at the 4 to develop. He wasn't worse on love than Lamarcus. Love got him a couple of times, but he also got Love a few times. Had a steal on him and forced tough shots other times. He's slim, but he's better closing out shooters and making rotations than our other big s and he plays like a guard. I don't know what ppl saw, but he drove and drew fouls on guards (kyrie) or posted him up. That is just craftiness. It shows a guy that has been used to gaming the ball against guards and smaller guys. We saw glimpses of what he can be. A guy crafty enough to know how to attack different players. Once he drove by LeBron who gambled fir a steal and set up Boban to get fouled. All if that without a screen.
Simmons git to the rim finishing with either hand. He was much better than Manu. I believe Manu will bounce back but the other guys still need playing time. It's possible they are still developing and getting better.
I wouldn't trade anyone unless Timmy is not back. His injury has not been season ending, but we will not get anywhere without a rim protecting big. Boban is still a project in that regard.
