In the latest poll, conducted after last week's third GOP debate in which Bush delivered a mediocre performance, just 4 percent of Republican and independent Republican-leaning voters said they would support Bush in their state's primary.
In the September survey, Bush earned 10 percent, trailing Trump, Carson and Carly Fiorina.
And in terms of favorability, no one polled lower than Bush, at a net-negative of 33 points.
Just 25 percent of all registered voters surveyed said they had a positive opinion of him, while 58 percent said they had a negative one.

Jeb Bush Allies Threaten Wave of Harsh Attacks on Marco Rubio, an Ex-Mentee
The cash-rich group aiding Jeb Bush’s White House run has filmed a provocative video casting his rival Marco Rubio as ultimately unelectable because of his hard-line stand against abortion.
That group, which has raised more than $100 million, has asked voters in New Hampshire how they feel about Mr. Rubio’s skipping important votes in the Senate.
And the group’s chief strategist has boasted of his willingness to spend as much as $20 million to damage Mr. Rubio’s reputation and halt his sudden ascent in the polls, according to three people told of the claim.
Seething with anger and alarmed over Mr. Rubio’s rise, aides to Mr. Bush, the former Florida governor, and his allies are privately threatening a wave of scathing attacks on his former protégé in the coming weeks, in a sign of just how anxious they have become about the state of Mr. Bush’s candidacy.

And Krazy Kruz, the Sharia candidate, also going after Rubio
Ted Cruz Sets Sights On ‘Moderate’ Marco Rubio
For Ted Cruz, the single biggest obstacle to winning the Republican nomination may not be outsider candidates Donald Trump or Ben Carson, but his fellow first-term senator, Marco Rubio.
After strong debate performances, both Cruz and Rubio — two 44-year-old Cuban Americans — saw their poll numbers rise, and interest from donors jump. The two Republican presidential hopefuls are now locked in a third-place tie according to a national Los Angeles Times poll ahead of Tuesday’s debate in Milwaukee. As a result Cruz and his allies have begun zeroing in on Rubio.
“As I look at the race, historically, there have been two major lanes in the Republican primary. There’s been a moderate lane and a conservative lane,” Cruz told CNN on Thursday. “Marco is certainly formidable in that lane. I think the Jeb (Bush) campaign seems to view Marco as his biggest threat in the moderate lane.”
The Texas hardliner’s mischievous branding of Rubio as a “moderate” is the first shot in a showdown that may unfold in the coming days of the campaign.

Jeb Bush Gets Stumped: GOP Candidate Can’t Explain How Refugees Will Prove They’re Christian
He was unable to explain how refugees would prove they were adherents of the Christian faith.
But the former Florida governor on Tuesday was unable to explain how refugees would prove they were adherents of the Christian faith.
“At a minimum we ought to be bringing in people that have — orphans or people that clearly aren’t going to be terrorists. Or Christians,” Bush told reporters in South Carolina, according to ABC News. “There are no Christian terrorists in the Middle East, they’re persecuted.”
One reporter questioned what his focus on Christian refugees would “actually look like.”
“Well, you’re a Christian, I mean, you can prove you’re a Christian,” Bush responded.
“How?” a reporter interjected.
“I think you can prove it,” Bush shrugged. “If you can’t prove it, you know, you err on the side of caution.”

dumb and dumberer to
Jeb Bush has made a stunning revelation, on the subject of his fall from frontrunner status to the lower tiers in the Republican race: He “hated” being ahead in the first place!
“I feel much better back here,” he explained, as he noted the high expectations that were placed upon him by being both brother and son to two former presidents.
“Being the frontrunner made me feel like other people were gonna being to say, ‘the other guy’s just dancing right through this,'” Jeb said. “I have to go earn it. I have higher expectations on me than people have on me. So it doesn’t bother me a bit that the expectations are high. And I want to win — which means that you garner momentum when it matters, and so I feel good about where we are right now.”
Yes, and we’re sure that all the people who helped donate over $100 million to Jeb’s campaign and/or Super-PAC are just delighted that he’s been able to overcome the burden of being frontrunner. It feels so much better now!

Jeb Bush Has “Mistaken And Conflated” Story About Receiving NRA Award, Campaign Admits
A spokesman for Jeb Bush’s campaign told BuzzFeed News on Monday that Bush had “mistaken and conflated” his story about receiving the National Rifle Association’s “statesman of the year” award.
The former Florida governor has told the story on several occasions, saying he received a rifle from then-NRA president Charlton Heston and was the recipient of the group’s “statesman of the year” honor in 2003.
While the NRA rates the records of politicians on gun issues, the group does not hand out a statesman of the year award. In 2003, the NRA held its annual meeting in Orlando, Florida, with Bush as the keynote speaker. The NRA’s meeting page from that year makes no mention of Bush receiving any award.
A BuzzFeed News search of various archive search engines like Lexis Nexis for the “statesman of the year” award and Jeb Bush only turned up comments this year made by Bush.
“In recounting the story, Jeb was mistaken and conflated multiple events unintentionally. Heston met with Jeb at that NRA convention and was the head of the NRA at the time, but it was Kayne Robinson who presented Jeb with the rifle for being keynote speaker,” a spokesman told BuzzFeed News. “Heston had previously said he supported Jeb’s reelection at a 2002 campaign event. Jeb was lauded by the NRA on multiple occasions for his second amendment record, including signing legislation that the NRA dubbed the ‘Six Pack Of Freedom.’ Jeb has a lifetime A+ rating from the NRA.”

The problem Jeb Bush doesn’t know how to solve
Jeb Bush was asked the other day about his faltering favorability rating among Republican voters. “ if I know,” the presidential candidate replied. “I don’t really care.”
And at a certain level, that’s probably about as a good reply as any. After all, the underlying question – why don’t voters in your own party like you? – is inherently brutal and insulting. Dismissing it as an unimportant distraction makes sense, if only to maintain one’s self-esteem.
But turning a blind eye to a problem does not make the problem go away. Gallup isn’t doing horse-race polling, at least not yet, but it is publishing data on the candidate’s favorability, and the longtime pollster published this reportlast week:
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush’s image among Republicans has steadily worsened over the past five-and-a-half months. His current net favorable rating of -1 (44% favorable, 45% unfavorable) among Republicans is significantly lower than his +27 (54% favorable, 27% unfavorable) rating in mid-July. […]
Bush’s campaign efforts since July have clearly moved his image in a negative direction. The percentage of Republicans with a favorable opinion of Bush has dropped 10 percentage points, while the percentage with an unfavorable opinion has increased 18 points.
Of the nine GOP presidential candidates included in Gallup’s survey, Bush is the easily the least liked and the only candidate whose unfavorable scores are higher than his favorable scores. (Ted Cruz fares the best on net favorability, followed by Ben Carson.)
What’s more, it’s not just Gallup. As Rachel noted on the show last night, Bush has the lowest favorability scores in New Hampshire of any Republican candidate, and the lowest favorability scores in Iowa of any GOP presidential hopeful.
Republican voters aren’t just skeptical about voting for Jeb; they also just don’t seem to like him very much. It’s a problem for which there is no obvious solution.

Jeb Bush’s mother tries to lend a hand
For those who can’t watch clips online, here’s the script, with Barbara Bush’s pitch:
“Jeb has been a very good father. A wonderful son. A hard worker. His heart is big.
“When push comes to shove people are going to realize Jeb has real solutions, rather than talking about how popular they are, how great they are. He’s doing it because he sees a huge need and it’s not being filled by anybody.
“Of all the people running, he seems to be the one who could solve the problems. I think he’ll be a great president.”
The New Republic’s Jeet Heer said in response, “There have been many sad moments in Jeb Bush’s ill-fated campaign, but this is surely one of the most pathetic. Down on his luck, Bush is doing the equivalent of bringing his mother to a job interview to vouch for what a great guy he is.”
That sounds about right, though that’s not the part that jumped out at me. Rather, it was the pitch itself that seemed problematic.
“Of all the people running,” Barbara Bush said, Jeb “seems to be the one who could solve the problems.” I guess my question is, what’s with all the qualifiers?
Jeb Bush is a fine candidate, out of “all the people running”? It’s the sort of thing someone says when they think there are superior candidates out there, but they’ve chosen not to compete.
Jeb Bush “seems to be the one” who’ll solve problems? Is Barbara Bush not altogether sure about that?
The GOP candidate told reporters yesterday, “It’s good to get an endorsement from your mother.” He made the comment before having seen the new commercial.

Jeb Bush adopts new posture, boasts, ‘Mission accomplished’
CBS News’ Major Garrett asked the Florida Republican, “Can Jeb Bush be a surprise story here on caucus night?”
The candidate, bemused, responded, “Yes, since the expectations are so low.”
Garrett, apparently unconcerned about twisting the knife, replied, “Well, you have succeeded there, governor.”
Bush, without missing a beat, raised his arms in triumph. Laughing a bit, he replied, “Mission accomplished.”
