Crazy part is you take away Kobe, and the Lakers would win more games.

Why does the shooting percentage suffer so one game to the next,,,though mostly over this season?

Hes playing way too many minutes; probably of his own accord. Phil knew when to pull in the reigns

    That's not an answer either.

He's open on many of these shot attempts and they are off. What causes this? Why does age corrupt the shot attempt?

If we're talking physics, I suppose his knees and ankles won't let him jump as high, therefore the trajectory of the shot is slightly lower than what he is accustomed to. Kobe releases the shot at the end of his jump, therefore you get the brick. He can't just blow past guys anymore either; the game is moving too fast for him now.

Legs. Weaker legs - due to injury, wear & tear, etc...Jumpers, especially long jumpers, take a lot of legs. You notice how he can't get by anyone or move laterally very well? His legs are gone (outside of a few nights where he feels well) and that impacts the jumper.

But he's never really been a great shooter either so that's an issue too.
