DPG - Please keep your mouth shut about Cam....not only did the media not say anything about Paeyton Manning walking off the field after the Superbowl 44 loss and not shaking Drew Bree's hand but they went a step further and made excuses for him as noted below....

Apparently some think this is a sign of poor sportsmanship from the NFL's greatest player. It's not. Walking off the field without congratulating Drew Brees may go against our misguided notion of what sportsmanship should be, but it wasn't at all disrespectful or bitter. It shows how much Peyton Manning wanted to win the game. And who can argue about that?

All of these phabgots got something to say a out Cam...but didn't say when Peyton acted like he had no ing class...

Former linebacker Bill Romanowski tweeted that the newly minted MVP would "never last in the NFL with that at ude," calling him a "boy" in the process. NFL Network's Deion Sanders said "you can't do that" in a press conference. The New York Times' Michael Powell wrote a piece about how Newton "[fell] short on leadership."

Here's another half-hearted recognition of Petyons lack of respect for his opponent during the Super bowl..that they still excused....they would have afforded no such excuse had Cam done this....

A piece in Fox Sports at the time acknowledged the poor sportsmanship, but also seemed to defend Manning's point of view. "Was it poor sportsmanship for not shaking hands with Saints players? Sure. But after what had just transpired in Super Bowl XLIV, I wouldn't want to look back either,"the article read.

And for what it's worth, Newton's press conference was held in close proximity to where Broncos players were being interviewed. So when he was answering questions, he did so while Broncos cornerback Chris Harris Jr. was audibly bragging in the background. Eventually, he decided to leave.

You are allowed to believe Newton should have continued his press conference and spoken at length, but if you do, ask yourself how you felt when Manning walked off the field. If you didn't throw Manning's character in the mud for what he did in 2010, consider not doing the same with Newton in 2016.

And at least one white fan gets it....

Sportsmanship happens between the players. Cam showed sportsmanship to Manning. Sportsmanship does not happen between the quarterback and the press. If they want an interview, they can have one at the pleasure of the player.

    Another excellent opinion....

    Done Deal.

You live and you learn! Newton definitely has some maturing to do and I believe he will. Peyton was well into his thirties when he made his error (running off the field and not acknowledging the Saints), but he learned. At the time Peyton was the standard, he was viewed as the ultimate sportsman dealing with his loses to the Patriots. He was totally disrespected by Belicek when they finally beat the patriots, Peyton tried to shake his hand and dodged his hand as he ran off the field. Now that was a classless act! The funny thing about that is that the media didn't hammer him.

Enough with the race card already. Cam is a front runner pure and simple.....when he is ahead, everything is fine and he is clownin, smilin, and being quite obnoxious.......but once he gets behind or loses, he acts like a pouty spoilex brat who doesn't want to play anymore. He has been this way since college.

I have no issue with his antics all year long. However, as the face and leader of the team, when the chips are down he needs to act in a more mature and level-headed manner. He showed very little composure during and after that game yesterday. He was the anti-MVP.

As far as peyton walking off the field and not shaking hands, who cares? A lot of players and coaches do this after a very tough loss. I see no issue with it. , the Bad Boys all walked off the court together when the Bulls finally beat them.....and the game wasn't even over.

The SAWM's always say enough with the race card while constantly playing it in life..what do you think this is some kind of s game....you're a gotdam moron biggems if you think you can talk me off the ledge...you're not smart enough tbh...

...and let's not cloud the issue.....sure he celebrates has nothing to do with handling the media....he showed graciouness to Peyton whereas Peyton didnt show graciouness to Brees.....he owes the media nothing but the league mandated 3 mins....and he gave them 3 min 15 sec...more than required....

And of course you would excuse Peyton showing no class....I expect you white folks to carry on this double standard and you couldn't have given me and better proof in this thread.....Cam didnt stay to answer all the couch potato questions but Peyton is within his right to disrespect fellow players by walking off the field as the QB no less...

Shut the up and keep playing that race card just like my OP states.....

I agree with kool. You are not league mvp and also a front runner. It's ridiculous, even with that loss, he's still a top ten talent.. The people who suck are the marginal talents who act like divas. If you are a legit star you can act however you want. The NFL is a dog and pony show. You collect your checks and leave.

I agree it's 100% about race. People are afraid black man gonna take their jobs. Quarterback is the last white position advantage (well pk and such). Cam shatters the black ceiling and the white people shake.

I don't respect the man who kissed papa John.

What does being a sore ass loser and poor sport have to do with race? Why wasn't that mother er smiling, dabbing, and taking pictures on Sunday night? Crofl simple fact is this has nothing to do about manning and everything with Von Miller and Demarcus ware treating cam like the he is. Lol even other black nfl'ers are calling cam a little for jumping away from the fumble. That race card bull is a convenient distraction people like to throw out there to sidetrack the truth. It's the equivalent arguing with someone that uses the hollering repeating tactic in order to over power someone's educated thoughts.

It's definitely not about race. A black man won SBMVP. Russell Wilson is loved and respected. Other black players go in on Cam it's not just racist old whitey.

Obviously the big difference in reactions to what Manning did vs Cam is earned respect. Manning, more often than not, has conducted himself in a positive way. Whether or not it's honest or just an act, he at least put forth the effort to craft an image and seems to be widely respected not only by the media/fans, but his peers.

He's won - that alone has silenced critics. Cam hasn't won anything, although he made strides there this year by winning MVP and getting to a Super Bowl.

But the difference in reaction to Manning and Cam is that with Manning, it was shrugged off as a one-time thing because he has a history of respect. Cam is not really liked by a lot of people because of the y act (which I have no problem with) but his actions speak to an "I told you so" mentality that everyone knows this is Cams true colors when the chips are down. He doesn't have a history of conducting himself with dignity after a loss so he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt like Manning did/does.

It's not white or black at all. Even black peers to Cam are calling him out and seem to geninunely not respect him. They think he's talented, but they don't respect him or his at ude.

Of course he is. But, now he's been touched. He is no longer immaculate. He has to go around and pick up every single one of the 52 cards that are now scattered hither & yon.

    Go on, chop/chop.

I was stunned when I discovered who he was giving those footballs to in the end zone stands. I figured he was giving them to black kids. So, I watched one game and found he was giving them to white children. Now, sure, he could have stood out there till doomsday looking for a black kid, but, my point is:::he knew there were no black children within a half mile of that end zone row and yet he goes there nonetheless. So, I was enamored of The Newton. Till the two weeks he spent before SB baiting my race.

    Why?
