No idea. But the wreck was bad enough that all three of them were killed, so I imagine that the belt wasn't the issue.

& of course Popovich insists on showing his in' ass in the midst of so much agony.

    Typical.

[[[with a tissue in one hand, tears in his eyes and remnants of tears wiped away as he addressed the media.
"I'd rather talk about basketball," Popovich said. "The personal stuff's none of your business."]]]

All car accidents are caused by driver error, so the 55 year old woman driving with her dog on her lap probably caused the whole head on collision. The dog probably moved or something, causing the woman to lose control of the vehicle. It's pretty stupid to drive with your dog on your lap, this is very tragic but his wife was just sadly in the wrong place at the wrong time. Very tragic, so sad. My heart goes out to everyone that was killed, even the dog. His wife though would probably still be alive if that driver wasn't so foolish to be driving with her dog on her lap, that's why there are pet carriers. Drive responsibly people.

My aunt was in a major accident, 2 years ago, because she was driving with her dog in her lap..

She went through the windshield and the dog went flying(tiny breed) way in front of her..the dog and the passenger were fine, as was the person in the other car, but she broke a bunch of bones and lost her memory..it took her like a year to resume normal life..that's what you get for being an idiot..

    Women drivers...

Seriously though, these preppy old ladies who think they're living in the 1920s with their dogs everywhere they go should be put into homes. No business driving at all.

    RIP wife.

He'll bail on a game but not on this. The opening was too wide (like his hole).

Everyone who's been around Monty Williams knows how much his family means to him. Just devastating.

    Well no . I guess other people don't really give a .
Yeah, because if there's one thing history has shown us, it's that all the guys in the NBA are committed and loyal family men.

I get that if it's about not showing up to a birthday bash, but when your wife dies in a car crash and you have 5 kids who no longer have a mother, it's not hard to find people who's family means a lot to them.

If he was a white man no one would ever think to make that stupid qualifier about how he cared for his family.

No, it's not. There are plenty of men in this country who don't give two s about their family. Of course they'll cry if one of them dies, but that doesn't mean family meant a lot to them. Not everybody is a family man, especially not in the NBA. People who know Williams say he is. There are probably few scenarios like being an NBA player that can show your true colors in that regard. People seem to respect the guy.

The race-baiting is a little silly. I've heard plenty of white guys referred to as family men.
