Some had nice comments for Leonard but I was talking about the ones like this.
I don't see Kawhi as someone who can single-handedly carry a team.
Like the best Tonto out there, but I have doubts he could generate the offence by himself.lol... no! What a silly thread! Kawhli is product of the Spurs offense system...He'd be a scrub if he played here!Straight up? No.
Kawhi and another good player, maybe.No. Harden is the superior player. If Harden played for Pop he would be MVP hands down. And that's just the first two pages.Lol, awful post. Kawhi is a product of the Spurs system. Harden is our system.

I laughed at these comments. Laughed even harder when I saw the poll results![]()
The list of players I would be willing to trade Kawhi for has 0 or 1 names on it. Usually zero.
I was just being a smart ass
still there are more good comments than dumb ones
That place is an exact replica of spurstalk, but about the rockets.
Harden and Parker/Mills on defense, um no thanks. I'd only take Harden if he was willing to play his OKC role and basically be a Manu replacement but no way would I trade Kawhi.
I would trade Harden for Kawhi. I wouldn't trade Kawhi for Harden.
I got banned for having the original "Spurs" nick.![]()
this website really has the dumbest people...well, at least we have established the baseline.
The drop-off for Harden and the Rockets since last year is stunning. Reversion to the mean, I guess. I'm equally surprised they've never won 60 games in a season.
Harden has turned into a cancer like post-prime Iverson & is an over-hyped version of pre-injury Gilbert Arenas.
I wouldn't trade Kawhi for Harden and Howard. tbh
Now, make it more interesting, trading in package. Leonard & Green for Harden & Ariza (i think the salaries match), i think it will make some people happy, since Harden is obviously better than Beal.![]()
I say trade him for Ariza. Straight up. No questions asked. Who's with me?
I would rather have Ariza and to be honest the answer is no, I am thinking on who I would trade for Harden?...No to Kingslayer, LMA, MVParker, Timmay, Boris maybe Manu (for a career no but from here forward, maybe) and definitely anyone else from a talent standpoint but to be honest he is not a Spur, it is better to have a lesser talent with a proper mindset than a greater one with the wrong mind set. KD could be a Spur but as much as I admire Russ' fire and ultra athleticism, I am not sure he could ever work as a Spur.
The sensible takes there seem on par with the sensible takes here. If we had Harden as a PG and kept Leonard, we'd be doing ok. I wouldn't trade though. Neither team's system would support what the other guy brings but defense is always welcomed.
I think the truth lies with each respective fanbase. On this board, not a single one of us would do this trade. We watch all of Kawhi's games. The only time I've watched the Rockets was against the Spurs and the last Warriors matchup.
Yet there are a fair amount of Rockets fans pushing for that trade, which says they believe there is a better franchise player out there.
At this point there are three players that Kawhi could be considered for right now and reasons why the trade shouldn't happen:
1. Steph Curry- in his prime with great pieces around him. He is three years older than Kawhi and I'd be worried what a 30 year old Steph will look like after multiple deep playoff runs. His last contract was no where near where it could've been due to injury concerns.
2. Lebron James- post prime Lebron is still great, but Kawhi has caught up to him as there careers trend in opposite directions.
3. Anthony Davis- he's in a horrible situation now. The only player that is young and a dominant two way player. The difference is Kawhi is a champion and already has the experience. I feel for AD, I bet he'd trade being #1 overall for the chance to be nurtured by Pop et al.
All this chatter about Kawhi being a system player is crazy. He puts up efficient numbers. From a statistical standpoint "the system" hurts Kawhi as it caps his shots per game. We're lucky to be Spurs fans.
Thats pretty accurate. Amazing how the stock of Kawhi has risen in the last two years and how much Harden and Howards has fallen.
Harden is one of a talent -arguably quite further ahead of Kawhi skillwise though Kawhi is better with his physical tools, but you can't teach heart, leadership & camaraderie spirit, of which Harden is really lacking of.
